Our paper...comparing reach distance between the Y-Balance Test (YBT) & Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT): Are practitioners using the correct protocol? thanks @DrRobNeedham@NachiC open access in @PTiSJournal https://t.co/gN9mGnGA0q
@kirsten1lamb @deejwilson @physiokatiek Exactly, that is where the focus should be, education and meeting patient expectations. That's why I think it's massively important to use FITST CONTACT PRACTITIONER as the title should be and not physio. This should change expectations IMHO.
@deejwilson @physiokatiek I 100% agree it's not a physio service and that's my point. Patients expect physio from appointments or whoever booked them in. It's education to meet expectations. The 'P' in the title should be kept to practitioner but the csp were really keen to keep it as a physio masterplan.
@BillingMartin Quality ๐๐ as a profession, we need to properly push to fund rehab following injury or illness. It should be our bread and butter. We should push it more than anything, especially more than roles behind a computer in a GP surgery or similar.
@RhodriParfitt I didn't realise it was in such a shambles!!....but it doesn't surprise me given the fact that some people don't even know what the 'P' in FCP stands for ๐คฃ๐
What is the roll of the first contact practitioner FCP? My 78 Yr old dad had a physio appointment this morning. In 10 minutes, didn't even take his coat off and told he will get some exercises...sent a web link & he doesn't have a computer/smart phone ๐ WT๐คฌ are we doing ๐คท
@RhodriParfitt Yeah no onward referral to msk rehab physio or anything. What's the deal with the pure physiotherapy? ...GP practices using private company and physios/practitioner not NHS employed?
