Last Saturday was a special one — officially kicking off 21 seasons with the CATS!
What a blessing it has been to represent my Alma Mater and our great state. It’s a responsibility I never take for granted.
It hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been worth it. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside tremendous people and with incredible players. I’m proud of every one of them and grateful for the time, care, sacrifice, and commitment they’ve poured into this program.
I’m grateful for the past that has shaped the present, and for the present that is helping build the future.
Here’s to Fall 2026 — let’s make it a special one! 💜
Forever GO CATSSSS #EMAW #Familybusiness
@TheRealMasonV@galloway__drew I was at church at St. Isidore’s on the corner of Denison and Anderson when at the end of Mass we heard all kinds of screaming so everyone went outside and saw a mass of people making their way down Denison carrying a goalpost!
Congratulations to my longtime friend Archbishop Paul Coakley on his election as President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. I’ve known Archbishop Coakley since we were young, and his deep faith and steady leadership will serve the Church well in the years ahead. Congratulations also to Bishop Daniel Flores on his election as Vice President. I’ll be praying for both of them as they begin this important work.
I admired Vice President Cheney for his integrity and his love of our country. I am grateful that I had the chance to serve with him twice --- when he was Secretary of Defense for President George H.W. Bush at the end of the Cold War --- a triumphant time for America and its values. And then when as Vice President, he helped to chart a course to protect America after the dark days of 9/11. He was an inspiring presence and mentor who taught me a great deal about public service.
Most of all, I will remember Dick Cheney as a mentor and a friend. I will remember his toughness but also his sense of humor. He was indefatigable in his determination to defend this country and patriotic to his core.
To Lynn, Liz and Mary and all of the members of the Cheney family I send my condolences. He was a great family man, and I know that you will miss him immeasurably.
So too will all who knew him, but I am grateful for having had him in my life. May he rest in peace.
Ronald Reagan: “Anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American…This, I believe, is one of the most important sources of America's greatness.”🇺🇸🇺🇸
Apparently KU had a meeting with Chris Klieman this week about a potential field storming, pending a Jayhawks win.
Taylor Poitier said after the game:
“The only rushing they (the fans) did was to their cars because it was raining.”
