No one said manufacturing is as labour intensive as in 1900.
Manufacturing is still the backbone of employment and economic prosperity.
The Treasury Chief is stating the obvious and then create a straw man argument.
Increasing levies and taxes on the working class, meanwhile there's no real increase on R5 million homes or increased taxation on people's second home, third, fourth, etc.
Preaching that God has assigned black people to "a civilizational station of subordination and dependence" due to the Curse of Ham, Christian nationalist pastor Dale Partridge calls for a "return to European Christian colonization of African nations." https://t.co/fmXimncly7
The "Standard of Living" didn't naturally drop. It was traded for "Shareholder Value." We traded the ability for one person to support a family on a single income for the ability for a billionaire to have a private space program. It was a conscious swap.

I genuinely don't understand it. If a goal is ruled out because of an accidental standing on a player's foot, how is Salah not given a penalty? You can't have it both ways. Either both are fouls, or neither are. That's all fans ask for consistency.
@Zilch0284 Beat Arg, should have won 6 nations (I was rooting for you). This Scotland team could give us a real test and tbh with all the changes I’m concerned
@DrinkSolaPop Not from NY, never been. Not even from the US. But when I think of NY I think of black ppl. I think of the slang, clothes, music, style. It’s what we grew up seeing on tv about NY as a 🇿🇦
Council housing literally pays for itself, with rents providing the revenue to repay the loans needed to fund it. Sorry if that doesn't please private landlords or construction bosses, but there you have it.
how old were you when you found out that all those "somali pirates" werent actually pirates? after the somali govt collapsed in the 90s boats started illegally fishing and dumping waste off somalia's coast. what people called "pirates" was actually a people's coast guard

That’s what they wanted; and still want, and will not stop.
"WE'RE A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY, SO NO MUSLIMS IN PARLIAMENT/SCHOOLS"
The recent online attacks against specific Muslims, like Yusuf Cassim and Muslims occupying positions of power in general, have been shameful.
As always with X bigotry, it's difficult to always be sure about the boundaries between unalloyed ignorance and sheer, mercenary malice. So let's test some of these claims and objections.
Conflating Muslims in general with warmongering radicals like Isis-Mozambique is like comparing all Christians with the Lord's Resistance Army. We can have that conversation.
Calling SA a Christian country is mostly accurate, but certainly not to the extent claimed. Have a look at Church attendance, falling membership numbers, closing churches.
But let's focus on one particular argument: that you are a Christian objecting to Muslims like Cassim. The objections are everywhere this last week, so no need to repeat them here. What then is the correct position for a Christian to have about Muslims?
In the interests of saving time, if you belong to a sect that was started in a garage last Tuesday, and y'all really don't like Muslims, ok then. You do that, let's not waste time on that. You made it up, you walk that talk.
Let's look at Christians who have been around a bit longer. Like my tribe, those Catholics. People who have had wars against Muslims, and who found ways to live together in peace.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (841 to be specific) makes the relationship of respect and esteem clear:
“The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day."
The 1964 encyclical Lumen Gentium states:
“But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Muslims, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind.”
"In the first place amongst these..." Did you see that?
There is a substantial list of other Catholic authoritative teachings on exactly this point, happy to let you have them.
Who do you think the "neighbor" in Matthew 22, or the Catechism 1825 is? This has been repeated and supported over and over by popes like John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis.
So that's what approximately half of all Christians worldwide are instructed to believe and live out in their faith as far as Muslims are concerned. I assume that most or all of the other big denominations will have similar instructions.
This means that this bigotry, automatic group prejudice and sheer malice is not just un-Christian, it is, in the language of faith, a sin.
So if you still believe that the Christian position supports these attacks, you are now no longer misinformed. You have elected to be bigoted, wrong, and malicious. Own up to your prejudice, and stop hiding behind a faith which you seem to know very little about. Or change
