A couple of weeks before December 7th 1941 my grandpa was stationed in Pearl harbor, Hawaii when he broke his wrist playing a game of basketball. They ended up shipping him out to another state to work a light duty position. After the attack, my grandfather learned that everyone in his squad had been killed.
