The World Cup has turned America into a discovery channel for the rest of the world.
And they are not handling it well.
In the best possible way.
Here is what they are discovering:
Free public restrooms. Europeans pay every time.
Free water at every restaurant. Just appears.
Free refills. Coffee. Sodas. Iced tea. Unlimited.
Free chips and salsa before you even order.
Free warm bread with dinner.
Ice in drinks like civilized people.
Air conditioning everywhere. Not a moral debate. A fact.
Parking lots attached to the actual place you are going.
Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it.
Ranch dressing by the gallon.
Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced.
Dental care that actually works.
Buccee’s. There are no words for Buccee’s.
Then they found the grocery stores.
Five of them within one mile.
Each one the size of an aircraft hangar.
Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday.
The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes.
In silence.
Processing.
They finally understand why we do not have trains.
We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive.
Parking lots the size of small European countries.
Airports in every city worth visiting.
Why would we need trains.
The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle.
The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak.
The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre.
The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas.
Welcome to America!
The greatest country on earth.
Dear US government,
Since you've just blocked Fable and Mythos on critical national security grounds, here are some other tools that pose a similar threat to the American people:
- Microsoft Teams
- SAP
- Salesforce
- Jira
- Outlook
Please do what you must to save America 🇺🇸
Claude has become so reliable at not being reliable that I should build an office dashboard screen to track Anthropic outages and degraded performance.

@wpengine I think a lot of the people in this comment thread should read Matt's and WordPress's positions before taking sides:

This didn't age well. We now know Alexander Smirnov lied to the FBI and was passing Russian disinformation. Here's @RepTimBurchett and other Republicans amplifying that disinformation while criticizing the Justice Dept for doing its job and not being duped.

One day after lawmakers saw the FD-1023 document on Biden's cash grab as vice president, the leading presidential candidate is indicted.
Timing is everything for these people. Cut these agencies' funding until they play ball.
Mid-2010s: Republicans argue that forcing Internet companies to be neutral providers of information is "socialism for the Internet."
2023: Republicans asking the Supreme Court to force Internet companies to be neutral providers of information.

@RepTimBurchett@TheJusticeDept You peddled Russian disinformation aimed against the United States. You literally helped a hostile foreign nation against your own country. You're unfit for office. Please resign.

Think you're having a bad week? Imagine working for MOHELA right now. Those guys are so messed up that my first bill will be "$0.00 $264 20" with a withdrawal date of "ested:"

@RepTimBurchett Wow, Burchett this is a new low. The video is conveniently cut to fit Burchett’s narrative and misses what Kerry was actually saying. Lying to your own constituents is pathetic. https://t.co/2uhWMJtrhg
Microsoft Teams is an abomination of a product.
The only reason companies use it is because it's included with an Office 365 subscription.
I'm not convinced that even a single designer ever worked on it
@timburchett 1) Have someone make a "confidential" tip to the FBI of an unsubstantiated accusation.
2) FBI records the statement on an FD-1023 (possibly with a note that it doesn't even seem credible).
3) Fox News and Tim Burchett say "ah, ha! There's an FBI document that says this!"
