The fiscal conservatives in the Republican Party just added $4 trillion to the deficit to give the wealthiest people on earth a tax cut. The pro-family conservatives just took healthcare away from 17 million Americans to give ICE a bigger budget than Brazil’s military. The single most inhumane and indefensible bill ever passed.
Obama’s Iran nuclear deal was working until Trump pulled out of it. His own staff warned him not to because the alternative was war. Well, now we’re at war with Iran because Trump is weak, stupid and hated Obama more than he cared about preventing Iran from getting a nuke.
Wow. The NYT did an analysis of the press room and exposes how Karoline Leavitt relies on planted stooges in the room to throw propaganda soft balls she uses to lie to the public.
This is how authoritarian states are run.
I think today was an inflection point - maybe small, but real.
The President, having launched a global trade war, feted in the Oval Office a Central American dictator who runs a mega-prison known for starvation and torture - a prison to which our government has, by its own admission, sent at least one person "in error."
They disappeared a man without a single criminal charge who's lived and worked here for 15 years - who was alleged to be a member of a gang based in a state he never lived by one anonymous informant. No other evidence. No trial. No conviction. Nothing but a legal order that he not be deported to El Salvador, where he's now serving a life sentence.
The Supreme Court just ruled, without any noted dissent, that the government must facilitate the man's release.
But Trump and his dictator friend said no. They laughed. They mocked the journalist who asked whether they'd abide by the Court's order. The Attorney General, the Secretary of State, and the White House Deputy Chief all lied about the facts of the case. Then the President repeated his proposal to send American citizens to the dictator's prison, and asked him to build five more.
The same day we found out that the government knowingly disappeared a PhD student for nothing but an op-ed, a man's 19-year old son who agents admitted was the wrong kid, and a visa-holding Russian scientist at Harvard who forgot to declare frog embryos at the border.
But: it's all breaking through. It's getting more coverage. More people are paying attention. More elected Democrats are speaking up. More conservative pundits and legal scholars are speaking up. Even Joe Rogan thinks it's bullshit.
Now we have to keep pushing. This is much bigger than immigration or deportation policy - this is about whether we live in a free country or a police state. It's the whole ballgame.
Obama just said what everyone’s thinking but too many are afraid to admit: If he had done even a fraction of what Trump’s doing—blacklisting press, punishing dissent, targeting student protestors—the outrage would’ve been deafening.
But now? Silence. Because when the Constitution gets torched by someone in your tribe, suddenly principles are optional.
This isn’t about policy anymore—it’s about power unchecked and hypocrisy on full display.
Trump is deporting people with legal status and no criminal convictions to foreign hellhole’s without due process.
His idiot team is sharing classified attack plans on insecure channels and accidentally including a reporter.
He’s pushing us toward a recession.
He’s threatening to invade allies.
They’re grabbing students off the streets and deporting them for legally protected speech.
He’s attacking every part of our judicial system from judges to law firms.
He’s letting an unaccountable MAGA billionaire illegally dismantle the government.
That same MAGA billionaire is working to buy elections by literally handing out million dollar checks to people.
Republicans are helping him.
We’re losing the things that are great about America—free speech, due process, strong allies, a functional legal system—right in front of our eyes.
America better find its backbone, and soon.
These are not political news cycle issues. Trump is transforming what the United States is as a country in the world into a far right, authoritarian, transactional, valueless oligarchy aligned with the world's autocracies.
Attention working-class Americans:
Republicans’ new budget does NOT include no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, or no tax on Social Security.
Instead it protects tax handouts for billionaires and makes way for the largest Medicaid cut in history.
