🚨🇺🇲 SpaceX just made HISTORY by sending Starship into ORBIT for the first time!

It’s an INCREDIBLE feat that required the following:

-The rocket traveling fast enough to stay in orbit
-A successful orbital insertion burn
-An ability to stay intact through different flight stages

The achievement of Starship makes way for the advancement of orbital operations.

Incredible things are happening... 🚀

The Politics of Making Syria Investable»

I get the point, and there’s definitely something real there. What’s happening in the countryside shouldn’t be dismissed. People fixing roads themselves, reconnecting water lines, patching up homes, restoring whatever basic infrastructure they can, all of that has real economic and social value.
But I still don’t think it solves the core issue here.

The question isn’t whether that activity matters. It does. The question is whether it’s large enough, widespread enough, and sustained enough to justify talking about 30–35% GDP growth at the national level. That’s a very different claim.
Most of this kind of restoration is informal, scattered, and local. In many cases it’s people trying to survive and compensate for state collapse, not a sign of broad productive expansion. That kind of self-help can help communities hold together, and it may cushion the decline, but it doesn’t automatically translate into the sort of economy-wide output growth those numbers imply.
So yes, it should be part of the picture. But it shouldn’t be overstated either. Rural resilience is real. A one-third jump in national GDP is something else entirely.

@Wurmserscribit Every time people like you ‘fix’ the region by partitioning it, ordinary people pay the price in blood, displacement, and generational ruin.
SECTARIAN FANATICISM is still sectarian fanaticism. Dressing it up in Christian rhetoric doesnt make it morally superior, or less deranged

[Jamil Adi @Jamiladi]

@Wurmserscribit Nothing more dangerous than a clueless imperial mind with a map and a messiah complex. The region has suffered enough from foreigners who think they can divide societies along sectarian lines and call it a solution.

@KyleWOrton Not supremacy. Just a very successful export of distraction, scandal, and psychosis.

@AcrossTheBay Pretending a separate ‘Lebanese state’ can negotiate peace with Israel ignores Hezbollah’s Iranian-directed stranglehold. Diplomacy requires dismantling that first, not wishful thinking.
I think that is a more appropriate response than personal attacks!

[Jamil Adi @Jamiladi]

@AcrossTheBay @AcrosstheBay is correct to call this out. Hezbollah is not merely an ‘enemy of Lebanon’ but its dominant power: it controls key state institutions, vetoes government decisions, and has used force against Lebanese (e.g., 2008 Beirut takeover, assassinations of critics). 1/2

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa:

Is protecting Syria’s Kurds really achieved through an external armed group with a decades-old conflict with Türkiye?

Syria cannot bear the cost of importing this problem onto its own soil. Tying the Kurdish cause to the PKK—along with its regional conflicts, forced recruitment, and militarization of minors—only deepens tensions with the Syrian state.

True protection of the Kurdish component comes through integration into the new Syrian reality. The Syrian state is an asset, not an enemy. Only if Kurds were excluded from citizenship, governance, or existence would alternative paths be justified.

Syrians are taking to the streets in mass numbers, demanding a civic and secular state in response to HTS’s talk of constitutional changes. Protecting #Syria begins with safeguarding the freedom of civil society to express itself and supporting its efforts to build political parties, civic movements, and organisations.
