@StevBuilds@OriginWars_ And credit where it's due: the tech behind the forge engine was built by my co-founder @oghenekparobor_ He's the reason a story you write turns into a fighter that actually plays.
Every great world eventually asks the same question: what happens after the legend?
The battle is the easy part to write. The years after, when heroes grow old and the world forgets, that's where lore becomes real.
Can't wait to see Middle-earth answer it. #LOTR
Peter Jackson says 'The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past' is in the scriptwriting stage ⚔️
The film takes place 14 years after 'The Return of the King'
(via @screenrant)
@screentime 14 years after Return of the King is a brave setting. Tolkien already showed us with the Scouring of the Shire that winning the war doesn't end the story. Living in the peace it cost is the real test.
@CelticMatheus Not Web3, but fully indie: @OriginWars_ from Lagos. You write a fighter, the game forges its 28-card deck, you battle friends. 27,000+ battles, zero ad spend. Goal: anyone can turn imagination into a playable legend. Battle clip: https://t.co/RiFlgPeQze
Most games hand you a character someone else designed.
I wrote mine in @OriginWars_. Meet VIRUSA ZERO.
Alias: The Necessary Deception.
She looks sweet. She is not.
Best of 5 against a demon. 4 minutes.
Watch how it ends.
@StevBuilds@OriginWars_ Thanks Steven! I wrote Virusa: her story, her powers, her look. The game's forge engine turned that into her portrait and her 28-card deck. That's the whole idea, you write the legend and the game brings it to life. What are you building today?
Warhammer fans, a question.
Your Emperor sits on a golden throne. Mine has guarded one fire for a thousand years and never once sat on his.
Oba Kola Adeyemi, the Benin Emperor. I forged him in @OriginWars_ and the game built his 28-card deck from his story.
Now your turn. Your own legend, your knight, your inquisitor, your heretic. Forge them and bring them to battle.

Henry Cavill, I need to tell you about a king in @OriginWars_ .
His name is Oba Kola Adeyemi. The Benin Emperor.
Twice the height of a man. Gold and bronze armor cast like the Benin bronzes. He has guarded one fire for a thousand years and never once sat on his throne.
Every rival he beats becomes a plate in his armor, their name burned into the bronze. There is one space over his heart that is still bare.
He's keeping it for you.
I didn't draw him. I wrote him, and Origin Wars forged him a deck from his story. Nothing you buy makes you stronger. Only what you write.
So write your Origin. Bring it to Cadia. Kola will be waiting at the gates.
Cadia stands. Let's see if you do.

Everyone else: forge yours and drop it in the replies. Let's see who's worthy of that last plate before Henry shows up.

@rouentang@OriginWars_ Here's what one battle looks like. My Origin, Virusa Zero, vs a demon. Quick, chaotic, done before your coffee cools. https://t.co/RiFlgPeiJG

@rouentang Bias alert, I'm building one: @OriginWars_ is an action card game where battles last about 90 seconds, so you can put it down anytime. You forge your own character and challenge friends. https://t.co/6GkaY5Hwcj
Every character in @OriginWars_ keeps a permanent record. Every win, every rival, every cup, the battle where it finally fell.
Worth something for what it did, not what it cost.
Write yours: https://t.co/6GkaY5Hwcj

The rule we built @OriginWars_ :
Our Ember forge Engine runs once, at character creation. After that, every battle is deterministic.
Nobody wins because a Engine model had a good day. You win because your deck and your decisions were better.
@JoshuaAmusan6 Witch Hat Atelier, and it's not close. Magic you draw means anyone can learn it, which is exactly why it's dangerous. Best systems have rules AND a cost. Frieren is a strong second.
@Aedrareforged This is how you honor a world. Take a footnote from the First War and let it grow into a whole region. Lothar's cavalry finally getting a home after 30 years of lore is the kind of payoff only Warcraft can pull off.
@40kARTdotcom@IdiotOfTheEast Guilliman in a Pikachu hood is the most wholesome thing the Imperium has produced in 10,000 years. And Kitten going as Shadowsun? Custodes have range.
@DiscussingFilm Tolkien invented languages before he wrote the story. Every world that lasts starts with someone obsessing over details nobody asked for.
Whatever S3 does, that's the bar.
@Forhanvv Running console games on a phone is impressive. The bigger leap is games that could only exist on a phone, built for the five minutes you actually have.
@CinemaSummer In Lagos, the phone is the console. A whole generation's first game was on mobile, not a Nintendo.
Smartphones didn't steal an audience here. They created one. That's why we're building @OriginWars_ mobile first.
