One of the most explosive - and intriguing - athletes I've ever been around was Jamison Stevens of Woodlands. A basketball star who is now a starting TE at Norfolk State football.
Stevens and I sat down this week to discuss his journey. It's awesome:

In the years since starting GameDay One, @jamisonstev17 is one of my favorite young athletes I’ve had the privilege of being around. The athleticism and talent are obvious, but this is a kid who has a remarkable work ethic and self drive and also possesses a rare combination of confidence and humility.
In the studio tomorrow to tape a couple of GameDay One podcasts. Two great guests:
Former Woodlands basketball star Jamison Stevens, who is coming off a freshman year as a football player at Norfolk State under coach Michael Vick. And where is in the depth chart after spring ball. @GreenburghSport@ionafootball coach Joe Spagnolo will also be joining me to talk about alumni in the NFL, this week's NJ/NY Recruiting Showcase, the 2026 schedule and what's next for the two-time state champs.
It’s been fun to watch @jamisonstev17 these last few years. Incredibly special blend of size and athleticism that doesn’t come around often in high school sports.
Half: Woodlands 32, Carle Place 23 in @NYSPHSAA Class B semifinals at Visions Veterans Arena in Binghamton.
This is Jamison Stevens. This athleticism for a player his size is just not normal.
Final: Woodlands 63, Carle Place 51 in @NYSPHSAA Class B state semifinal in Binghamton.
Woodlands will play for the state title on Sunday at 10 am vs either Marcellus or World of Inquiry
End 1Q: Woodlands 12, Dryden 11 in the NYSPHSAA Class B Regional Final in Binghamton.
Jamison Stevens with another gorgeous finish. How does a player this big move like this? Special talent for @GreenburghSport
