Asked someone from the industry whether foreign investors are still interested in allocating to India. The TLDR:

Interest has pretty much died out. India is seen as geopolitically exposed, especially to an oil shock. There are no real AI plays. Valuations are rich. And the rupee situation doesn't help.

On top of that, investors who were sitting on gains have taken money off the table and are now looking at markets like Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Europe etc instead.

He also pointed out that our LTCG/STCG structure and the increase in STT have made India less attractive compared to other markets that are seeing inflows.

If we need to attract FPIs back, and we do, fixing this feels like pretty low-hanging fruit.

Now let me tell you an incident of Armed forces.

A soldier was deployed on the border at a post which needed few days walk to reach.

He lost his father (real father, not father like)
There was no way that he could be informed directly by family on mobile. A day lost in the process.

Though, the leave was granted but unless another soldier reaches there to replace him, he was supposed to man the post. You can't ask enemy if he can hold for few days, in case he is planning to attack.

His reliever was also dispatched to move up. But it took 4 days to do so.
5 days gone.

There is no way he can catch a flight because that depends upon availability of seat. There is no special reservation by airlines for @adgpi

Only VIPs (civil dignitaries, I won't mention more) can fly in airforce aircrafts on immediate basis, not even the pilots who otherwise at times get martyred flying the fighters in training.

So, by the time the soldier reached home, antim sanskaar war over (as in small village there wasn't any provision keeping the body for long) he couldn't see his dad, who has made him study despite the hardships he faced as a marginal farmer.

But this did not deter the soldier to feel proud of his nation, seniors and Armed forces.

He went back to the post with same junoon to defend his motherland (and you all, including the type of citizens mentioned in the tagged tweet)

When seniors and juniors stay as family and looks after each other, anything is possible.

Last one week has been plagued by constant recoveries of poison, explosives, bombing materials, weapons and ammunitions and most importantly - terrorists who are living and walking amongst us, in our neighbourhoods.

This is the time that caution is critical and we all know Pakistan is a snake that bites in the dark. It’ll try its best for terror attacks, chaos and harm.

Police and armed forces cannot be everywhere. It’s our job as citizens also to stay alert and inform / flag / highlight anything that we see suspicious.

Just remember, till the time these terrorists were caught, nobody could’ve guessed what they were upto. Nobody could’ve gauged the hate they are carrying inside. So till that time curtains are raised, it’s near impossible to determine.

Still, in all their cloak and dagger model, they do make errors and they do some actions that someone somewhere can identify as shady and dangerous. It’s upon all of us to keep the nation safe.
