@IndyAsapScot Scotland's losses were terrible, but so were the North of England's. Of 5 towns that lost the highest share of their 1911 population in WW1, 3 were in Scotland, but the worst 2 were in the North of England. Durham lost 7.7%. By comparison, Manchester lost 1.9%, Glasgow lost 1.8%.
