The blowback loop - the same pattern, repeating across 44 years:

1982: Israel invades Lebanon to destroy the secular, Sunni-led PLO. The invasion radicalizes the indigenous Shia population. Iran's IRGC organizes them into Hezbollah. The invasion creates the very enemy it was designed to prevent.

2006: Israel launches a 34-day saturation bombing campaign and ground invasion to destroy Hezbollah. The IDF fails to achieve a single strategic objective. Hezbollah emerges with "divine victory" street credibility across the Islamic world. The invasion makes them stronger.

2026: Israel launches a multi-division ground invasion to permanently erase Hezbollah. Three months in: 1,180 IDF soldiers wounded. Hezbollah cells retain full operational capacity. Drones still penetrating border defenses. The invasion is producing the next chapter of the same story.

Each war designed to destroy the resistance produces its next, stronger form.

The PLO was a national liberation movement with a political program. Hezbollah is an ideological army with a theological mission. Whatever emerges from the rubble of 2026 will be harder, more dispersed, and less interested in negotiation than anything before it.
