@LeadingReport@MLB just when I was starting to forgive you for pulling out of GA, you go and pull this. I guess I wasn't meant to be a baseball fan anymore. I wonder which hockey team I should root for?
Jordan Peterson made a profound point on Chris Williamson’s podcast.
When God dies, a lot of unexpected things die with Him, including science.
Science isn’t some purely neutral, secular tool. It rests on deeply religious assumptions: that truth exists, that it’s knowable, that pursuing it is good, and that the universe makes sense.
These aren’t scientific claims, they’re metaphysical, rooted in a religious worldview. The universities themselves grew out of monasteries.
Without that deeper foundation, science eventually stops being about truth and becomes just another tool for power, ideology, or convenience. You lose the reason to be honest when the data gets inconvenient.
Do you think science can survive long-term without any belief in objective truth or a higher moral order?
Elon Musk: There are no lords and peasants at Tesla. Everyone eats at the same table.
“I actually know the people on the line, because I worked on the line, I walked the line, I slept in the factory, and I worked beside them. So, I'm no stranger to them.
There are many people at Tesla who have gone from working on the line to being in senior management. There are no lords and peasants. Everyone eats at the same table. Everyone parks in the same parking lot.
At GM, there's a special elevator only for senior executives. We have no such thing at Tesla.
We give everyone stock options. Many people who are just working the line, who didn't even know what stocks were, we've made them millionaires.
And I just want to say that I'm incredibly appreciative of those who build the cars, and they know it.”
New York Times DealBook Summit, 2023
If you took $1 Trillion from Elon (assuming it was cash), it would run the U.S. government for 49 days. Not even 2 months.
The U.S. doesn't have a billionaire/trillionaire problem, it has a spending problem.
Singapore is world's most light polluted nation. Nowhere in Singapore can your eyes fully adapt to the dark. Not far behind is Belgium. In many parts of the world the heavens don't declare much to the unaided eye. I think it's no accident that there are more theists per capita in rural than urban regions.
Dear @grok,
Is it true that the parliamentarian has no binding power & only plays an advisory role?
Is it also true that the Vice President has the authority to overrule the parliamentarian?
@MissBess77@YonaThaNightBo@JoeVFarmer I don't think the animals were the intended recipients of God's wrath, which is why he made a plan to save them. The sea creatures didn't need the same provision.
