When I started my marketing career, I thought doing everything was the smartest move.

At first, it felt exciting.

I believed the more services I offered, the more money I would make. But the truth was different. I was tired all the time. I was learning many things, but mastering none.

Clients were confused about what I truly stood for. Some trusted me. Many did not.

Money was unstable. One month was good. The next month was dry. I worried a lot.

As a freelancer, that fear hits deep. Bills do not wait. Family expectations do not wait. Your mind never truly rests.

The real challenge was focus. I was everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

Things started to change when I made a hard decision. I decided to slow down and niche down. I picked one or two areas and told myself, I will do this well or not at all. I stopped chasing everything. I started learning deeper. Practicing more. Making mistakes, but in one clear direction.

That was when stability came. Not overnight, but steadily. Clients began to trust my work. Referrals increased. My confidence grew. Eventually, I fully settled into social media marketing. It became my main focus, and everything started to align.

Looking back, I wish I niched down earlier.

Feeling unwanted is probably the quickest way to make me distance myself.

I don’t beg to be kept, and I don’t chase after people who show me I don’t matter to them.
So once I feel like I’m not appreciated, once I feel like my presence is more of a burden than a blessing, I quietly step back.
