What is it with everyone trying to present like it’s one of those awful ted puff pieces? Can we just agree that the ‘too cool for school’ act works for musicians and not tech companies? Smile a bit, folks.

@ActiveNorCal Camping just outside the park on Saturday night was wild. The forest was lit up all night with blue flashes but with still air and no rain.
Turns out it’s #NationalParkWeek so here are some photos from this weekend’s climbing shenanigans in Yosemite. The nat’l parks system is one of the best things about the USA. Both the land and the people.
I noticed the same out here. When Tahoe was ‘dry’ last year I heard a lot of people mention climate change who had never shown an interest or concern before. So much of the existing change is invisible to the ignorant ⛰️
It's depressing to consider, but I suspect the demise of skiing in the Alps will prove to be far more consequential to the rich world's awareness of climate change than news that one third of Pakistan is underwater.
All of this talk around it being hard for H-1B holders after being laid off, spare a thought for those on L1 visas. No employer can just ‘sponsor’ your visa. You either need to enter the H-1B lottery (likely bad timing) or leave the country. (/INAL)
@mjg59 Yep, this is me too. Over the years I have found ways to ‘mask’ it when I seem to remember, but none are perfect. I find it worse when I get a slight cold. I hope you forget soon and take care until you do.
@jdotk Interesting. I’ve certainly noticed a tendency to gravitate toward shared activities, but I’ve also found that given the right environment it’s possible to have deep and meaningful conversations. Driving for hours to the Sierra Nevada is an example from my own experience.
UPDATE: Yosemite National Park’s temporary peak-hours reservation system concludes today at 4 pm.
An entry reservation will not be required to enter or drive through the park; entrance fees will still apply.
I’ve been recording video of some climbing adventures. Here’s a recent trip to Yosemite. Showed a friend why Tuolumne is my favorite place to climb. Maybe it’s a refresher from doom-scrolling? https://t.co/kdhIvBYSDi
