Run club in Bali is now being investigated for disrespect locals and discriminating locals.
This is how Asia strikes back. The entitlement of westerners. Keep it coming. Have them learn what Asians feel in their countries.
we're still so far away. infrastructure can change overnight, but mentality can take generations. teach everyone around you not to litter, and hopefully by the next generation, this will happen less often.
Network School rented some shoplots and flats but alluded the world they got an entire island for themselves.
In all their marketing material they kept mentioning Singapore when the thing is in Malaysia.
That sort of thing really pisses people off.
Then they keep saying the island is an abandoned ghost town.
There's an actual school campus for school going kids on the island. A ghost town will not have a school with children. There are residents there.
Then there's been talks coming out of NS about making the island their own nation. Of course that's going to get any Malaysians who heard about it going wtf. Of course that'd get Malaysians scrutinising just what exactly they're doing in those shop lots.
Then the NS founder demanded to meet the Prime minister and meet their demands or else they'll pull out their RM100m (usd25m) investment and that he'd suspend future investments (doesn't matter what the amount is cos anyone can say any number).
Did he think that would collapse Malaysia? It's as if he's not aware that this country has a history tech and innovation for decades already.
Come on man. Respect is mutual.
And the Israeli passport thing? Israel and Malaysia never had diplomatic relationship and so that passport was never recognized and never allowed to enter the country.
I don't know why and how they had a couple of Israelis do social media promotions for them on location. Of course that'd pique the attention of the immigration department.
I hope the rule of law is maintained and due process is followed and things work out between all parties.
"Terima kasih, tapi saya nak tanah adat saya saja"
That one sentence says so much, at so many levels.
Simple, polite, but so powerful, and devastating.
2. Kenapa Orang Asli kena merempat dan lari daripada tanah diorang in the first place?
Mohon pencerahan.
The realities of the climate crisis & unsustainable urbanisation are already here. Extreme weather events like floods & heat have worsened.
We needed our Climate Change Bill & the Malaysia National Adaptation Plan yesterday.
This is the area of the proposed commercial data centre in Kota Damansara.
That’s a literal small forest situated near community members. Green spaces provides more long-term benefits to local biodiversity & communities than data centres.
Forest City semasa dibuat, kajian alam sekitar (EIA) pun belum siap. Nelayan terkesan. Country Garden melingkup, Malaysia pula kena tanggung buat zon kewangan khas. Datang Balaji, sekarang isu anti-semitik.
Tiada faedah kepada rakyat Malaysia melainkan untuk segelintir kecil.
We do not want to become Honduras. We do not want this to happen here. We do not want a network state in Malaysia. Hope this PH government isn't dumb enough to work with these people.
This is the same concept they're starting here and why he is demanding to meet Anwar
Every day it's like the world forgets the Strait of Hormuz WAS open for free for all to use until they got attacked and had 168 schoolchildren assassinated and now they're acting like Iran is being unreasonable and it's driving me insane
Seeing one of gods most majestic and divine creatures, fight so valiantly against the destruction and rampaging of his home should do untold psychic damage to your psyche. We should be radicalized by this.
Malaysians, a word of advice: If you want to keep control of your country, kick this guy out ASAP. He wrote a whole book about how he wants to take over your land & start his own country. He's only been there 2 years & is already threatening Malaysia. This is only the beginning.
See? People in their circle says they are trying to build a micronation.
Tell me why shouldn’t I, as a Malaysian care or freak out???
Just because there are power dynamics and money, yall can whatever experiment you want on ‘backwaters near Singapore’?
Be for real
Before you stands a thing of metal and wheels that looks like you but does not blink, whose hunger is both absent and endless, and you trumpet a challenge it cannot hear and brace your tired muscles against its relentlessness because someone must, and there is only you.
You’re not so indispensable that Malaysia’s future depends on whether you stay or leave.
Even some of the world’s top scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs who have chosen to work in Malaysia have never claimed that the country owes them special treatment or that talent mobility should dictate national policy.
Malaysia should never make decisions out of fear that someone might leave. A nation’s education and talent policies must serve the long-term interests of its people.
If we are serious about becoming a technology and innovation nation, we need to double down on developing local talent, strengthening our national schools, and having the conviction to invest in competent Malaysians. Foreign talent should complement and strengthen our ecosystem—not become the basis upon which we shape national priorities.
A confident nation builds institutions that outlast any individual. It does not negotiate its sovereignty or its education system because of dollars and cents.
I apologize for disturbing you. I just wanted to inform you that we are still trapped under bombardment in Gaza. I apologize again for the disturbance.
