Hmm. Makes you wonder which came first, the #StanleyCup or @NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.

[Neil deGrasse Tyson @neiltyson]

Today, July 5, 2021, Earth in its oval orbit is farther from the Sun than any other time of year.

Perihelion: 91.4 million miles – Jan 2, 2021

Aphelion: 94.5 million miles – July 5, 2021

We’re also moving slowest in our orbit. That’s why Summer lasts 5 days longer than Winter.

Are we wise enough to shepherd the future of our own civilization?

[Neil deGrasse Tyson @neiltyson]

The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you.

[Neil deGrasse Tyson @neiltyson]

We’re just sayin’. To abolish mask -wearing laws in some States while the rest of the Nation keeps theirs is like designating a peeing section of the swimming pool.

As the area of our knowledge grows, so too does the perimeter of our ignorance.

[James Boyd (MFA) @JamzBoyy]

@neiltyson Always a wonder...

A wonderful reveal! :-)

Santa doesn’t know Zoology:

Both male & female Reindeer grow antlers. But all male Reindeer lose their antlers in the late fall, well-before Christmas.

So Santa’s reindeer, which all sport antlers, are therefore all female, which means Rudolf has been misgendered.

Cosmos: Possible Worlds
“Seven Wonders of the New World”

The 13th (and final) episode — my personal favorite — airs tonight on FOX, 9pm ET. And if interested, beginning tomorrow, all 13 episodes stream on Hulu.

In my judgement, 2020 desperately needs this.

[James Boyd (MFA) @JamzBoyy]

How can we help!

The New York Times reports: Jacob’s Pillow Theater, Site of Dance Festival, Is Destroyed in Fire
“It looked like what a bomb must look like when it goes off,” the organization’s executive director said.

[James Boyd (MFA) @JamzBoyy]

Clarification is attached to objectivity these days. I’ve found a large number of humans listen with shallow effort because of luxuries like algorithms. So it seems the demand for clarification is for the human that can’t see the opportunity to observe and be curious.

[Neil deGrasse Tyson @neiltyson]

Wow. Didn’t think that last tweet needed clarification.

“We're all the same” refers to us being the same species.

The virus doesn’t discriminate. It just cares that you are human.

The virus doesn’t discriminate. But systems of health care do.

[James Boyd (MFA) @JamzBoyy]

Be intelligent.
The ability to sense something, observe it, be curious then explore those cognitive reactions. Identify what’s revealed and finally exercise such realities. #dance does this while #choreographers handle it.
Be willing to measure intelligence so you do change.

The measure of intelligence is the ability to change. —Albert Einstein

Marta Gonzalez was a ballerina for years in New York City.

After she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it severely limited her ability to move and communicate.

Someone played the music for Swan Lake for her — and just watch how it all came back to her.

Words have mean’ing’ which in ALL cases the ‘ing’ establishes an ongoing action that suggests words aren’t defined. In other words: individual words have depth... For example, “Love” or “God.”
