We are pleased that the team from @essexhighways today undertook repair of the electrical supply that feeds the main lamppost at Rayleigh Parade. Great to see the light back on tonight. Thank you to the resident who raised this issue with us. We are also working on a set of faulty lights at the bottom of Long Ridings Avenue. #HuttonNorth #Brentwood #conservative Cllr Jay Patel, Cllr Jan Pound and Cllr Keith Barber
We were out today in Hutton North delivering our 2026 Resident Survey seeking the views and opinions of residents. If you live locally then you can complete the survey online at 👉 https://t.co/X9c2XogXXo ✍️ - we welcome any feedback that you might have. Thank you. 🙏 @followers
We are pleased that today we saw the permanent repair to the pothole at the junction of Rayleigh Road and Fielding Way here in Hutton North. This was one was reported by Cllr Jay Patel and local Borough Councillors following requests received by residents who were being impacted when turning right at the junction (towards Shenfield).
Thank you as always to our local Conservative County Councillor Louise McKinlay who has escalated many such highways issues across the whole Brentwood Hutton division. 👏 @followers
Thank you to residents of Colet Road and nearby Hawksmoor Green for your patience whilst our electrical contractor from Brentwood Borough Council sourced the necessary parts to reinstate the electrical supply to the lighting along the woodland footpath.
We are pleased to see all of the lights along the path are now illuminated and much safer for residents following our request to our hard-working housing team.
If you have an issue you need help with please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will do our best to help. Cllr Jay Patel, Cllr Jan Pound and Cllr Keith Barber.

Back in 2024 Rayleigh Parade and Woodland Avenue Shops were both added to Brentwood Borough Council's Winter Plan at our request.
Inclusion in the plan means that shopping parades receive gritting during snow ❄️ and icy 🥶 weather.
We have checked with our officers and received confirmation that both of our two local shopping parades will benefit from gritting if needed over the next few days.

This evening I spoke at the Scrutiny, Performance and Standards Committee at Brentwood on the subject of our Housing Caretaking Service.
This followed a referral by myself to the committee last year, supported by my two ward colleagues Cllr Jay Patel & Jan Pound and our Shadow Chair for Housing, Health and Community Cllr Mellissa Slade.
There was broad agreement during the debate that the service needs significant improvement and an amended motion was agreed unanimously.
We must do better for our tenants and leaseholders to make sure that they get the improved caretaking services that they deserve.
This requires a thorough review of the caretaking service taking into account feedback received from residents, the staff who deliver the service as well as local ward councillors.

Earlier today I joined Cllr Jay Patel out in the Burses Way area delivering an update to residents confirming that the missed blue bag collections are now expected to take place on Saturday 3rd January. This followed escalation to the depot by your local Conservative team. We apologise for this delay and thank those residents affected for their patience.
In order to discourage domestic waste from being fly tipped in/around street litter bins in Hutton North we requested signage be placed onto the bins most abused. This has now been installed and we hope that this will help to address the problem locally. Cllr Jay Patel, Cllr Keith Barber and Cllr Jan Pound. #CleanerSaferBetter @followers
Reform UK’s Councillor @McivorJaymey was shown up at the @Essex_CC Full Council today for having not updated his register of interest.
It still contains 2 businesses he’s dissolved and Virgin Atlantic that he left under awkward circumstances…
Today we had an opportunity to see first hand progress being made at Brookfield Close and Courage Court as part of the strategic housing delivery programme. This building work here in Hutton North has support from across the council chamber and is replacing outdated housing and car parking with modern, energy efficient homes that are much more affordable to keep warm. The homes are being built to meet the local needs of Brentwood people. #huttonnorth #Brentwood #Homes @followers
Council resources should always be focused on getting stuff done for local residents - not virtue signalling exercises like Carbon Literacy Training - so they can be awarded a “bronze award”. Totally wrong-headed priorities from the LibDem & Labour group running our council which just takes staff and councillors away from their main responsibilities. #GetStuffDone #Brentwood #HuttonNorth #Conservatives @followers
Delighted that the @Conservatives under @KemiBadenoch have confirmed that they will make leaving the ECHR one of the key policies for the next General Election. The ECHR and Tony Blair’s Human Rights Act 1998 have led to the political paralysis of our country. We have seen vexatious appeals across areas such as political protesting, ILLEGAL immigration and spurious human rights claims. No wonder the public is so frustrated with all this nonsense. We need to take back control by removing this politically correct legislation which is simply no longer appropriate. #LeaveECHR #Conservatives #TakeBackControl
Last night saw the approval of a planning application relating to Flint’s Community Sports Hub which is used by Hutton Football Club to support football provision here in Brentwood. Speaking at the meeting my colleague Cllr Jay Patel spoke strongly in favour of approving the application. The vote to approve was supported by my fellow Hutton councillors including Cllr Jan Pound and Cllr Adam Chinnery. The motion to approved was passed unanimously. #GloriousGame #Sports #Hutton #Brentwood #Football #huttonfc
The LibDem/Labour coalition which runs Brentwood is NOT on top of keeping our Borough clean and tidy. Too much litter in our town, estates, villages & rural lanes. A Conservative Council would not let this situation continue. It’s unacceptable. #CleanerSaferBetter#Conservatives
This morning your Shenfield Conservative Team led by Cllr Tom Gordon called out E&SW and as a result they have repositioned the metal access chamber cover in Priests Lane that was sticking up. Hopefully this has helped prevent anyone getting damaged tyres. #safer#Shenfield
Cllr Patel, Cllr Pound and myself raised the issue of significant leaf-fall affecting particular roads in the Hutton North ward and this morning Normanhurst was one of the roads to benefit from a visit by the road sweeping team. Thank you to all the staff at the depot who undertake this much appreciated work around our Borough. Keeping our Borough Clean and Tidy is a key priority for your local Conservative team. #cleanersaferbetter #HuttonNorth
