Bobtail Squids ( Euprymna scolopes ) are one of my favourite #Cephalopods!
This tiny #squid - which is no bigger than your thumb - uses a powerful symbiotic bacteria to create #bioluminescence so they can camouflage themselves from predators by mimicking the moonlight above!
How beautiful is this? ๐
Weโve collaborated with talented artist, @janavi_kramer, to raise awareness of Britainโs relatively unknown reefs created by #RossWorms.
See more of the artwork and read about the #reef project in this article: https://t.co/1n7QIkRIRU
Some โbehind the scenesโ of โDeep Connectionโ - a piece created in collaboration with @SharkTrustUK for Oceanic 31. This #art project is dedicated to highlight #endangered species of #shark and to spread awareness of the importance of #conservation.
Did you know that we have amazing #reef made by worms off our #Norfolk and #Lincolnshire coasts?
This incredible illustration was created by @janavi_kramer in partnership with our Southern North Seas Team & shows the beauty of our Ross worm reefs! ๐คฉ
The Redtoothed Triggerfish ( Odonus niger ) is part of the Balistidae family, and are mostly found in aggregations in the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They are named after the red colouration visible on their teeth! #ocean#art#illustration#marinebiology#oceanart#fish#marine#sea
This slow moving filter-feeder is the Whale Shark ( Rhincodon typus ). Though their name may be misleading, they are in fact a shark in the world which also makes them the worlds largest fish too - growing up to 12 metres long! #whaleshark#oceanartist#illustration#ocean#art
Hi Everyone!
Iโm British #Artist and #Scientific#Illustrator ๐ Using vibrant and visceral colours, my work articulates the #magic of the #ocean; not only hoping to evoke the same passion in others but to highlight the threats impacting the ocean and all the species within it.
