Senior economist and policy analyst @OECD. For more sustainable and inclusive growth and trade. Opinions are mine. The OECD's official word is: @OECDtrade.
I'm not posting to this account anymore since Musk changed the algorithm. My feed has become uninteresting and full of silly "influencers". Hit me up on LinkedIn. I post about inclusive trade and growth, gender equality and, occasionally, critical minerals.

There is new momentum to integrating Indigenous peoples in trade while learning from them in particular as regards sustainable production processes, and while protecting traditional knowledge. No 'fly in/fly out' relationships--this issues will need long term efforts!
Policymakers in the OECD trade community heard today from 2 Indigenous leaders how they see Indigenous interests in trade:
Justin Mohamed, Australia’s first Ambassador for First Nations People and Ngahiwi Tomoana, co-Chair, Te Hurumanu, Aorearoa New Zealand.

Why do women still earn less than men?
Hear 2023 economic sciences laureate Claudia Goldin explain the answer to this question. Goldin was awarded the prize for advancing our understanding of women’s labour market outcomes.

Women, Business and the Law is a great resource from colleagues in the @WorldBank that underlines gaps in regulatory environments that hold back the potential of women and therefore economies.
Claudia Goldin’s work is inspiring, so happy to hear she was awarded Thee Prize. Maybe this will motivate more work in this area, and more policy action? 🤞
Historically, much of the gender gap in earnings could be explained by differences in education and occupational choices. However, this year’s economic sciences laureate Claudia Goldin has shown that the bulk of this earnings difference is now between men and women in the same occupation, and that it largely arises with the birth of the first child.

“Cool women business leaders” is my translation of this book’s title. It tells the stories of 22 successful Mexican business women including through graphic novel type drawings. The book seems to be aimed at girls between the ages of 10 and 15. Empowering! #EmpresariasChidas
