The BBC's @mrCharlieRose is looking for families impacted by long delays in EHCP assessments /annual reviews, based outside London. He also wants to speak to those with a positive EHCP experience, to ask why the system worked better for them. [email protected] 07715 038533
Dear Jeremy Hunt
This stands for ALL of our war dead. In the Forces we do not care about colour, creed, religion, economic or social background. We honour our fallen equally, and without judgement or prejudice.
These men and women died for us, and we will honour them. Always
The UK tax system is a hideous complicated mess. Imagine if instead of cutting NI, Hunt merged it into income tax. Or if he sorted out VAT. Or dealt with the income tax threshold thing. Or aligned taxes on gains and income. Or anything at all that made it easier not harder..
Our G29 students' beautiful work curated at @Gateshead_NHS promoting organ donation answering the guiding question: "What does it mean to be human?"
Special thanks to Andy for supporting this work, and to our wonderful artists in Year 8 and their teacher Ms Macphail!
My blood pressure goes through the roof when I see an email like this.

I’m writing an article about problems parents of children with SEND are faced with when trying to get support (problems with EHCPs, lengthy waits for external agencies- SALT, EPs, CAHMS- subsequent waits for assessments/diagnosis, lack of special school places etc)
Do you know what’s good for children Gillian?
✅ Smaller class sizes
✅ Subject specialist teachers
✅ Safe buildings
✅ Access to CAMHS and specialist support
Maybe you could get on with delivering those things!

It’s been so hard to stay quiet about this! I loved filming for the ad. Never been involved in anything so high level & professional b4. So pleased they chose a real pharmacist to portray the service too. Comms like this R essential to get the right message across re Pharmacy 1st
A counsellor who works with anxious children has messaged me. One of her young clients has seven detentions to make up, meaning that they can’t go to the after-school sports that they love. Another is spending their days in isolation, initially because they left class to go to the toilet when the teacher said no, and now because they keep being ‘non-compliant’ with the rules in isolation (meaning, they talk when they aren’t meant to and move around too much).
These children are miserable, and their parents are so worried that they are paying therapists to help them.
Therapy won’t help. It’s not magic. Punitive policies in schools are creating anxiogenic environments. That means an environment which creates anxiety. They are punishing children for being immature, for behaviour which is childish and not malicious.
Everyone is affected by an anxiogenic system, because those who aren’t punished are scared that they will be next. Yes it might result in more compliant behaviour and silent corridors, but what are we doing to the next generation? Is the cost really worth it?

The problem when parents like us leave is the opportunity it creates for ‘yes’ parents to fill the space. Absolutely LAs use PCFs to further their own agenda but this is most dangerous when there’s a compliant PCF! Time to reform this outdated, autocratic model @NNPCF
@CrisisEhcp@SuttonCouncil The plan to monitor social media speaks volumes for how Cllr Marion James addresses concerns of a vocal parents forum. When internal communications are shared it exposes the true agenda of those paid to represent interests of ppl with SEND. Only passive parents matter in Sutton.
Having seen what happened at @SuttonCouncil it’s really worrying to see the level of unpleasantness that is thrown at those who speak up for SEND children. The @NNPCF somehow need to find a way around the building assumption among LAs that ‘co-production’ ultimately means control.
