@ProfPMavima It's a wonderful idea, implementation is the issue. Let's start with full details of where this is being done. Any support systems in place for diaspora professionals?
Well, not an academic publication, but a song I released drawing on my Christian faith as the 'theoretical' or rather theological framework 😅. My faith is a big part of who I am. Stream on online platforms (Spotify etc) and watch official video on YouTube link in comments

Great initiative by #GreatmanMusic. RETWEET and help him reach as many people as possible!
You know what, my people? A retweet costs you nothing. And when you see somebody who is disabled, like Great Man, pushing this initiative, it should shame us who are able-bodied that we are not able to assist those who are disabled.
The least we can do is to RETWEET so that those who have the heart to help can actually support this cause.
So I ask you again, please RETWEET this initiative that Great Man, who is disabled, has started to assist people like him who are disabled.
It costs you nothing at all as a Zimbabwean or an African to simply RETWEET, or as any other nationality.
This is not a complicated issue. Elderly residents in Soweto understand it far better than some of those who think they are educated and smarter than the gogos in the townships. If you go into Soweto and attempt to chase away immigrants living there, it is often the South Africans themselves who will chase you away.
These immigrants, whether documented or not, provide a direct source of income to local people. They rent rooms or entire houses from locals, buy vegetables from local vendors, purchase groceries from township shops, and offer various services to the community. It is as simple as that.
I know this is being discussed at a very high policy level in America, but I have personally witnessed it on the ground while filming in Soweto.
I saw elderly gogos standing up to protect immigrants—whether legal or undocumented—because they understood the practical reality. Their reasoning was clear and powerful: “If you get rid of them, you are getting rid of our income.”

@TheHR263 Put the pictures in your bedroom, that's a private and intimate space. Lounge is a shared and accessible space for all visitors, in laws, vafundisi etc. It's not just about them respecting you, but you respecting them too. A photo is not worth the drama, you lose nothing dear.
This is a nursery somewhere in Zimbabwe. The environment for teaching and learning is also important for early literacy development. What kind of learning do you think happens here?
