🚨 SONY'S HISTORY IS THE MOST DAMNING RECEIPT OF ALL.

@Sony @PlayStation, I went digging.

Not rumors, conspiracy not anyone screaming on YouTube.

YOUR OWN TERMS, HISTORY.
AND ANNOUNCEMENTS.

Gamers need to understand exactly what they are paying for.

Let's start in 2011.

PlayStation Network suffered one of the largest gaming data breaches in history. Roughly 77 MILLION PSN accounts were involved.

Names.
Addresses.
Email addresses.
Birthdates.
Passwords and login information.

Sony shut PSN down after discovering the breach-gamers weren't told that their information had been stolen until about a WEEK later. Good job Sony!

The UK's Information Commissioner's fined Sony 250,000P and said the attack could have been prevented if the software had been kept up to date. 🤔

That alone should have permanently changed the conversation about PSN.

Oh, I'm just getting started.

Fast-forward to SONY'S CURRENT 2026 TERMS OF SERVICE.

Sony actually tells you that the words:

"own"
"ownership"
"purchase"
"sale"
"rent"
and "buy"

DO NOT MEAN OWNERSHIP HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO YOU.

Yup.

You press BUY.
You pay REAL MONEY.
Sony's agreement says that doesn't mean you OWN the content.

Instead, PlayStation content is provided under a NON-EXCLUSIVE, REVOCABLE license.

And deeper in those same terms?

Sony says it can suspend or discontinue online access to content or data associated with your account WITHOUT NOTICE OR LIABILITY.

Sony says it can discontinue certain content or features.

Sony says that when content depends on online servers, it makes NO COMMITMENT to continue making those servers available.

"They even reserve the right to delete player account data they determine has been dormant."

Um we're supposed to believe an all-digital future is somehow BETTER for gamers?👈

We've already seen what this can look like.

In 2023 Sony announced that previously PURCHASED Discovery video content would be removed from people's PS libraries because of licensing arrangements.

PURCHASED.

The removal was eventually stopped after the licensing situation changed.

Think.

The thing protecting those customers wasn't ownership. It was another licensing agreement being worked out behind the scenes.

Then-Helldivers 2.

Sony tried to force Steam players into mandatory PSN account linking after launch.

Players revolted.
Reviews cratered.
The situation affected availability across scores of countries.

Sony backed down. Why?

Gamers PUSHED BACK.

And here's another one people need to remember. In 2021 Sony planned to shut down purchasing on the PS3 and Vita stores.

Gamers raised hell.

Sony reversed the decision, and Jim Ryan himself wrote:

"It's clear that we made the wrong decision here."

Five years later?

Sony announced they're closing them again, beginning in select markets in 2026 with broader PS3/Vita closures coming in 2027.

Previously purchased games?

Sony says you'll still be able to download them "for the foreseeable future."

FORESEEABLE FUTURE.👈

Those aren't my words.

THEY'RE SONY'S.

And Sony's current terms also contain binding individual arbitration and a class-action waiver unless you exercise the applicable opt-out rights.

So here's my question for every gamer reading this:

HOW MUCH CONTROL ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE ONE SONY?

"We paid the way for their success!"

It seems like we're constantly pouring money into this company, but we're constantly getting screwed!

Yet the further gaming moves toward digital-only distribution, the more control moves AWAY FROM THE CUSTOMER.

@Xbox @Microsoft @NintendoAmerica -ARE YOU WATCHING?

"This is an enormous opportunity sitting right in front of you."

Give us ownership.
Protect physical media.
Protect preservation.
Respect the people spending the money.

Sony's biggest problem isn't people "putting them in a bad light."

"THEIR OWN WORDS ARE DOING THAT JUST FINE."

Billy Boyd is not only a talented actor but also a musician. Best known as Pippin Took in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, he also wrote and performed “The Last Goodbye,” the closing song of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

Written by Boyd alongside Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh, the song plays over the end credits and became a fitting farewell to The Hobbit and the world of Middle-earth.

It’s pretty special that the man who played Pippin also got to perform the final song of the Middle-earth films.

Even £30k a year isn't enough to survive as a single person in the UK anymore.

Take home pay after tax, National Insurance and pension is around £2,047 per month.

Then take away everything you have to pay just to exist:

Rent £900
Council Tax £140
Utilities £150
Food £300
Phone bill £50
WiFi £30
Car insurance, tax and fuel £350

That's £1,920 a month just on the basics.

That leaves you with £127 a month for everything else.

No clothes.
No nights out.
No holidays.
No emergencies.
No savings.

And people still wonder why single people can't get ahead.
