If you truly understood the Chungmuro and broadcasting ecosystem, you would know that the Korean entertainment industry (back then) operates on a strict, deeply elitist hierarchy: Movie Actors > Drama Actors > Idols.

Kyungsoo once stated on an interview on 2017;

"Whenever I start a new project, I always have the mindset of 'this is just the beginning.' I am still an actor who falls very short, and I believe I need to gain more experience and study more. If the member from the biggest groups are entering sets carrying the heavy weight of knowing they have to perform flawlessly just to make the public's "prejudices and preconceptions fade away" they aren't having it "easy". They are working twice as hard just to clear the negative baseline the public sets for them.

Kyungsoo never missed group activities despite doing his acting projects. He always prioritize his group because he knows the inconvenience of having a missing member in a group.

He even skipped Blue Dragon Awards where he won as Best New Actor. Even now that his exclusive contract under SM ended, he still chose to participate in EXO comeback and even attended SMTOWN for group sake.

You can never doubt his commitment to EXO just because he also excels as an actor.
