We are honoured to be part of Tamil Nadu’s Thai Maman Thanga Mothiram Thittam. Our participation is driven not by profit, but by a desire to give back. Sincere thanks to Hon’ble CM C. Joseph Vijay. Every ring will uphold our promise of purity, hallmarking & fine craftsmanship. @CMOTamilnadu@Joyalukkas
Emma Schols ran back into a burning house burning 93 % of her body to rescue all six of her kids.
She was on a ventilator for weeks. Doctors said people rarely survive burns that extensive. When she woke up, the first thing she asked was whether her children were alive.
Unfortunate a minister had to step in & clarify the woman in the viral video wasn't her. Lots of DMK supporters trolling a woman over her clothing choice. Periyar must be laughing his ass off, watching this pseudo-progressive stock unfold.
The fact that a video of a woman simply going about her day can spark political hysteria tells you everything about the fragile, regressive mindset behind it. But I’m not surprised! What else can you expect from followers of a leader with a track record of deeply derogatory remarks against women?
For the record: the woman in that video is not me. But even if it were, why should it matter?
Why are a woman’s clothes, appearance, or joy still treated as matters for public trial?
When they can’t challenge us on our policies, governance, or track record, they resort to manufacturing narratives about personal lives of leaders and their family members. Misogyny is the oldest weapon of those who have nothing substantive to positively contribute.
And, To the woman in the video, dragged into this simply due to a passing resemblance: I’m sorry. You look stunning, and I hope you keep living on your own terms (and loving those highlights! ✨).
I got to watch Jananayagan.
I do want to share about the one thing that was most important to me and the cause that I stand for - safety for children from sexual abuse and swift action (I still wish coz what else do we have except hope?)
A star the stature of @actorvijay and now the Honble CM of Tamilnadu speaking about child sexual abuse in the film was crucial; Important.
Huge thanks to the director H Vinoth and to the Honble CM for that scene.
🙏
I hope and pray all children be safe from abuse. May the abusers end.
Undressing and hitting was a part of my childhood schooling.
Undressing in front of the whole class was a part of punishment.
Looking back, I am actually surprised so many of us survived the assault. Teachers (and parents) got away with an extreme level of violence.
