My heart remains with our Haitian brothers and sisters, many of whom have endured unimaginable hardship after years of violence, instability, and uncertainty in their homeland.
The Catholic Church has consistently affirmed that now is not the time to force families to return to conditions that remain dangerous and life-threatening. Every human person is created in the image and likeness of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
I join my brother bishops in urging support for S. 4814, legislation that would extend Temporary Protected Status for our Haitian brothers and sisters who have built their lives in our communities, contribute faithfully to our society, and seek only the opportunity to live in safety while their homeland continues to struggle.
I respectfully ask you to make your voice heard. Please take just a few moments to contact your United States Senators and urge them to support S. 4814. By visiting this link, https://t.co/ekTH4hDNzN, you can quickly and easily send a message directly to our U.S. Senators in support of this important legislation.
Together, through prayer and faithful civic engagement, we can stand with vulnerable families and uphold the dignity of every human life.
Please continue to pray for peace in Haiti, for wisdom among our nation's leaders, and for all who seek refuge from violence and despair. May Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Patroness of Haiti, intercede for her people and lead them toward lasting peace. 🇭🇹🙏

After meddling for decades in Haitian affairs, the U.S. and the "international community" have made a clear decision to allow Haitians to suffer extraordinary abuses and killings, rapes, arson and destruction—nihilistic murderous atrocities —under the rule of gangs whose inhumanity is immeasurable, all with guns and ammo coming from the US. How this administration and its predecessors can live with themselves.... but are they even looking—does all the death, rape, and murder bother them?—as Trump and his cronies cavort before the cameras. These two young nuns were killed during violence the past three days in Mirebalais....
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu at the House hearing on sanctuary cities:
"If you wanted to make us safe, pass gun reforms. Stop cutting Medicaid. Stop cutting cancer research. Stop cutting funds for veterans. That is what will make our cities safe."

We must cease deportation flights to Haiti IMMEDIATELY. Returning people to such dire conditions is unconscionable and a violation of human rights #StopHaitianDeportations
