From admiring speakers to seating before nobles, strictly by invitation. I performed a spoken word piece with a message of lifting youths from despair to hope at the UN House in Abuja, in honour of @Ashoka, @AshokaAfrica#changemaker#janetisglobal#ACS2025
@bamisaye_funke That's why you are fit for the calling. Sometimes loud is not always right, we need persons who can sit, reflect and replenish the virtue. Sis, you can always talk to me, you know. If I hear that you keep quiet, I will blow your trumpet, it will jerk you from that quiet place.
Stepping on the stage of WIRE National Conference was not just about sashaying in purple and white. It was a deliberate deliver to ensure that my listeners are immersed in an experience that would live rent-free in the minds.

What did you hear about the girl diligent in her works? "She shall stand before kings and not mean men."
My spoken word performance was aligned with the conference theme and the nation's needs. Thus, "What is Nigeria?" was birthed. #janetisglobal#adeyemojesutofunmijanet
Dear, National Leadership Conference, thank you.
Your podium gave my voice a platform to share my definition of what Nigeria is. I am counted among the great minds whose thought should be heard.
Thank you, NLC.

While the teacher preached today, a line dropped that I may infuse into a poem. One blessing of having a sound leader, you leave church not just fed, but inspired to create. Creatives, what else do you jot in service?

Your raw ideas are enough to start, but mastery requires refinement. Never confuse the beginning with the destination.
For the spoken word artist: your notebook and voice are enough to begin, but excellence will demand more.

6. Before stepping out for a performance, I could change my outfit ten times. My Fashion Design sister thinks I need to up my fashion game but she forgets I design some of my outfits. 😆
7. I cringe when I walk by a stranger and randomly hear my performance over their phone.
I am spoken word artist and I am not ashamed to admit that:
1. Half a decade ago, I used to admire spoken word artists. I thought they had two heads. Like how do you write, understand your piece and perform without looking at your paper?
#janetisglobal#adeyemojesutofunmijanet
4. I charge to perform. I send invoice to ensure clear documentation.
5. I have spent more preparing for a performance - from my outfit, to the piece arrangement, rehearsal etc than I was paid by the host.
Join the workforce in church, o sim, "I can serve God without serving in church."
Now, I am making an application, I remembered that I performed spoken word at GCK-Ekiti and was an academic director for 3 different freshers' sets.

Growing as a spoken word artist has been powerful, but it’s no walk in the park. From UN stage with Ashoka Africa to my phone camera, every moment shapes me.
This is more than performance, it's impact.
