Terrible news - Australia's environment minister @tanya_plibersek has just approved a new coal mine
The minister has failed to uphold her human rights obligations to stop new fossil fuel projects - this is deeply disappointing @hrw#NoNewFossilFuels

Climate deniers persist in harassing the Bureau of Meteorology staff. Because they deny the scientific evidence of global warming. https://t.co/tEMnVOUPGV
It's a persistent and exceedingly damaging myth that government can't afford to properly invest in environmental protection and repair. Here I explain why and how much better things could be, *if* our government had a change of heart https://t.co/yMZ9XxQm2o #Budget2023
The Arctic is warming 4 to 7 times more than the rest of the world. The Antarctic ice shelf melt rates are 20% to 40% higher than predicted. We need more climate ambition, not less.
There is no time to waste. #ActOnClimate#climate#energy#renewables
The fact neither the prime minister nor the leader of the opposition said a SINGLE WORD about a report warning that we are about to make the actual planet we live on UNLIVEABLE, tells you just how broken our political system is & how unfit it is to deal with what is coming.

Richard Marles on @InsidersABC saying we need the nuclear subs to protect our oil supplies over the next two decades. So why not spend some of the $368 billion on decarbonising our transport sector?
The $368 billion for submarines confirms that the Australian government can easily fund enough renewables, electric vehicles, high speed rail projects and anything else needed to get us off coal, oil and gas completely.
Yet they choose not to.
Why?
This is groundbreaking, Fed Govt funding to reduce social and legislated discrimination against our people in the LGBTIQ+ community. https://t.co/8fPzXObssu
just incredible that @Dom_Perrottet told a private audience he feels a 'moral obligation' to fund coal mines that can't find investors!
…but not that surprising: his gov't has approved 26 coal & gas projects since the paris agreement was signed! #NSWvotes
Labor has just approved 116 new gas wells to be fracked by Santos in QLD.
Not only that, Tanya Plibersek has given them the green light to operate until 2077.
This isn’t what "ending the climate wars" looks like.
Labor is making the climate crisis worse.
Human's are causing the Earth's sixth mass extinction. 83% of wild mammals have already been pushed past the brink.
If nature goes, its taking us with it. No time to wait.
