@YvetteCooperMP Please do something amazing to benefit thousands of suffering #hyperparathyroid women; sack all #endocrinologists refusing to see patients (which is of course their job) with calcium below 2.85, & get this figure removed from #NG132 . Lives are ruined by 2.85 I.e:
@jennyeclair I have no problem at my chemist. Have you asked for the prescription so you can take it to a pharmacy other than at your surgery? I have also used xailin night gel preservative free. Is this one more readily available. I think it's also a bit cheaper online at Amazon.
A dismissive endo declared 30 years experience of #hyperparathyroidism
No. Only the patients experience the creeping feeling of dread waking each day fearful of what the day will bring, & go to bed each night hoping desperately for sleep for just a few hours respite from PHPT.
If you support single sex spaces for women that include bathrooms, changing rooms & sports please Rt & like. I firmly believe biological females have that right, to personal dignity & fair sport in the Uk but across the whole world. Iโm prepared to stand up & be counted. Are you?
@JaneyGodley Dear Janey I hope you find peace and serenity here. Thinking about you and your family. Lay down and watch the autumn change those leaves from green to brown to red ... .Thank you for your comedic talents. Xxx
'Patients with primary hyperparathyroidism experience a statistically significant and sustained improvement in PHQ-9 scores following parathyroidectomy. Additionally, symptoms of anxiety and suicidal ideation appear to decrease after parathyroidectomy.'

Over ten years, our members have felt exasperated at the disparity between great surgeons and useless endos at the same NHS Trust. We wrote to all NHT Trusts in 2016, but to date, only #Portsmouth & #Croydon have pulled together to get a great team that puts patient care first.
A lady told us this morning she spent years feeling like a lazy/mad/hypochondriac but finally met an excellent endo who made up for the lost years with efficiency, and she's listed for surgery. A common theme with hyperparathyroidism is wasted years under doctors who don't listen
@steve_r76 @duncan_CNSE @NHSEngland But not for every patient. As in my case. Your old hospital discharged me whilst I still had symptoms and raised blood levels. PET complaint. Apparently all guidelines followed. My GP and private surgeon agreed I need further treatment but this will be at a different hospital.

Ive just seen you on the Lorraine show discussing @AntheaTurner1 having been diagnosed with osteopenia. This can be caused by hyperparathyroidism and needs to be ruled out as it can be cured and bone issues reversed. I speak from my own experience
