My ballistic vest was 2 years expired. [photo from October 2023] I was told that more than half of FBI vests were expired and they were trying to replace them. Vests break down over time. It is a huge liability. It would cost the FBI between $10-15 million to replace every agent’s vest out of an $11 billion annual budget. That’s less than 0.1% of the annual budget.

“The FBI Family” is a myth. During my career I had defective vests replaced and multiple expired vests.

Think twice before applying for a job with the FBI.
