There should be an expedited option for terminally ill patients, but the story is missing important context! The court did not order Ontario to fund the US$600K treatment, it ordered OHIP to reconsider their decision because its reasoning was inadequate. Health Canada approval also doesn’t equal taxpayer funding. Those facts are central. Why weren’t they made clear?

There's nothing wrong if you have the infrastructure to support those ideals… The problem is Canada does not nor are they working in any significant way to attain the infrastructure needed. Because you have our government working to prevent our ability to profit from our resources and in doing so they are fighting against enrichment and prosperity for our citizens. All they've done so far is make middle and lower class citizens poorer!
@Funchal2022@PMacc94@PierrePoilievre Oil in the ground and fuel owned by private companies are not strategic reserves. Being a net exporter doesn’t guarantee supply during a crisis. Exports are commerce; strategic reserves are security. If the supply chain fails tomorrow, what exactly is Canada’s backup plan?
That’s quite the argument! Oil companies make large profits, therefore Canada shouldn’t maintain an emergency fuel reserve. Using that logic, profitable grocery stores mean we don’t need emergency food supplies. A strategic reserve isn’t a charity program for oil companies, it’s insurance against supply disruptions. Since Canada is a major oil producer, buying Canadian oil when prices are low and selling it during a genuine shortage could potentially return money to the public instead of simply costing taxpayers. You can debate whether that’s good policy, but "oil companies make too much money" doesn’t actually answer the question.
As a sidenote… If you are going to complain about what Canadians pay at the pump, perhaps we should acknowledge everyone taking a slice rather than pretending the entire difference between crude oil and the pump price is oil-company profit.
@CityNewsTO Nobody should have to put up with targeted attacks. All politicians have to realise they need to stop weaponising their political views by making sweeping comments that failed to take into consideration all the facts!
Do you actually listen to what you say? You are complaining that the opposition has voted down all these great policies you're putting in place to help Canadians, but you have a majority government so everything you put through can't be blocked by your opposition. Please tell me what the liberal governments excuse is. Unless you are just being untruthful!
@CityNewsTO Maybe I missed it in your news article, but wouldn't it be a good idea to identify the weapon used for public safety purposes? Gun or knife is a huge public safety issue whereas a blunt object, less so.
@Polkameister Or maybe we can use all these things that we aren't shipping to the US locally so that farmers can get lower cost potash and other needed supplies due to surplus caused by the "trade war". Maybe Canadian farmers might pass on some of those savings to the consumers.
@MelissaLantsman@PierrePoilievre Can anybody tell me what the purpose is of question eriod if politicians refuse to answer any questions. Our system of government is so broken.
