“When you see something that is not right. Not fair. Not just. .
Do something. Get in trouble. Good trouble.” —John Lewis
The opposite of engaging in #goodtrouble is doing nothing out of fear we’ll get into trouble. We must amass our courage and overcome fear like John Lewis.
What if: instead of analytical essays we showed Ss how to find significant passages & draw their thinking?! And- talk thru their process. @pennykittle @multigenreman @HeinemannPD
Teachers are now expected to be:

All while being underpaid, overworked, and exposed to 20+ families on the daily? We MUST advocate for their support and protection.
When a student fails a quiz, or a test, or a project... what would compel that student to get it turned around for the next one?
I’ll tell you one thing: the relentless encouragement and support of a teacher.
Props to the teachers who never give up on their students.
Also very important to let students know about mistakes you’ve made during your life. If you’ve gone down the wrong path and have experienced it, students are more likely to listen.
Sometimes, it’s important for kids to see their teacher make mistakes… to see them modeling the process of overcoming failure.
And as a bonus... your vulnerability makes you a bit more human... which always makes you more relatable.
