Just gonna ask again: if anyone has ANY leads on a customer service, donor relations, or administrative roll please let me know!! I've been really struggling to make ends meet and it looks like I might have a massive additional hurdle next week.
This one just cycled in, and I think takes the cake today: “Why aren’t free-ranging bison classified as wildlife in Alberta?”
If web headlines are being pulled to the ticker, they need to be written to serve both purposes…or, filter these ones out!

@CTVNews Can you please fix your ticker on News Channel? Pulling in headlines from your website doesn’t work for TV viewers when they include phrasing like “Here’s what/why…” and sometimes no useful references to even know what a story is about…
Here is a straight forward, easily implementable five part plan for the Ontario Science Centre. Let’s call it #FuturePlanOSC
1. The Ontario Government wants to abandon the building because it needs repair/magnitude of the disrepair. The Ontario government should gift the building to the City of Toronto for $1. The burden of the building is, then, off their hands. The Province continues to offer the programming and pay for operations. They don’t want the building, fine. But don’t demolish it.
2. We establish an OSC Community Land Trust to take ownership of the land (owned by the City of Toronto today) and the building.
3. Using the $1.5 million already on the table from @adammcnamara and @SabiVM, the immediate repairs begin. We have some time, since the deadline is October. OSC can continue to deliver programs. According to @CdnArch, the exhibit halls can be fully functional during the repair of the roof area (which is something like 2% of the roof). This addresses the next few years.
4. The new OSC Community Land Trust creates a fundraising campaign, on the premise that the City of Toronto and the Government of Ontario match community donations one-for-one (there is precedent for this - the $10 million for the Bentway was contingent on the City of Toronto matching the $10 million. And they did it). Governments need to come to the table - they cannot totally abdicate.
5. In sum, the Government of Ontario gifts the building. City of Toronto gifts the land. Province continues to be responsible for operational costs and programming. The OSC Community Land Trust repairs and invests in the building, and protects it as a heritage site for community use, in perpetuity.
What do you think of this plan?

Damning, damning indictment of CBC over its coverage of Israel-Palestine by a staffer who resigned in protest. There’s simply too much to quote so pls read yourselves, but I’m hearing similar examples from journalists in various newsrooms. https://t.co/NRBQysP3pS

NEW: Open letter signed by the councillors who created and defended the Countryside Line. It urges the province to extend the #Greenbelt to #WatReg, and local councils to continue the smart growth policies that have served us well for over 20 years.

This is an important public safety and political issue worth our support. It’s an opportunity for Canada to show leadership as other responsible nations have done. Vehicle safety testing should include safety for those outside the vehicle. Thanks for starting this petition.
