BTC backing stables is a terrible idea! Why?

Here are SEVEN reasons:

1. Elasticity and Supply Adjustment
BTC's fixed supply is its Achilles' heel in this context. While it creates scarcity, it fails to adjust dynamically to market needs, leading to extreme price volatility. A stablecoin backed by BTC would inherit this volatility, undermining stability. In contrast, $AMPL adjusts supply to match demand, maintaining a stable unit of account while avoiding BTC's deflationary spiral. This elasticity ensures the ecosystem can scale and stabilize without artificial interventions.

2. Stable Store of Value
BTC is notoriously volatile, making it a poor choice for stable collateral. Its value fluctuates wildly with market sentiment and macroeconomic shocks.
$SPOT, on the other hand, offers low-volatility commodity money designed specifically as a stable store of value. By insulating from supply volatility (handled by AMPL), $SPOT provides a reliable foundation for stablecoins like $USDaf.

3. Sustainability Without Centralization
BTC-backed stables would likely rely on centralized institutions to manage reserves, exposing them to censorship, blacklisting, and single points of failure.
