There's no state mandated testing. This doesn't mean we overload younger students to the point that they and/or parents are stressed out. It's not about outdoing others virtually.
Relationships before Rigor
Grace before Grades
Patience before Programs
Love before Lessons
If you have a kindergartener at home for the next few weeks, here is a free resource from my dear friend @LittleKWarriors to keep your child learning in engaging ways!

@LarsClemensen Whats normal for students without access to technology or who are taking care of their siblings? The ones with tech can find a million learning opportunities. Expecting teachers to create them in a matter of hours is unrealistic.
Unless school districts have functioning online school options already in place, expecting teachers to develop a system on the fly in a short time makes no sense. Not to mention most of the work will not count for a million reasons. Meaning the time invested by teachers wasted.
If parents are looking for ideas while off for 2 weeks. Let the children run & play! Let them use their creativity in unstructured play. Let them have recess. Let them read & draw. Let them play OUTSIDE. Let them have naps. Play board games with them & enjoy being with them
My sincere thanks to Brittney Herrera and her sweet friend for taking the time to decorate my door! Also thanks to my other sweet mom for sending some decor to help. I canโt forget all the others who provide so much support in many different ways! @NicholsSawmill#NSEbold
We shouldnโt punish kids for being kids. If they sit in desks too long, donโt be surprised if they get fidgety or talkative. Theyโre children not robots. Yes, thereโs a time & place for quiet learning. But we need more time & places for kids to play, move, socialize & be kids.
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream! Our 2nd Grade Silent Auction Winners enjoyed their trip to Sugar Rush for ice cream and a story with their 2nd Grade teachers! @NicholsSawmill#nsebold @MonaBaeza7 @janredingag92@MsMartinTX
