happy 2024! after taking a few months off to refresh & rejuvenate, I am officially on the job hunt. i am looking to make the transition from swe into technical program management! please reach out if you are looking for someone who can bring tech skills with a dash of whimsy! 🎉
Usually when people ask me if I can code my answer is “I can get it done” because with enough time anything’s possible. But I think there’s a big leap from knowing basic shell scripts to writing an automation tool in python
@AakanshaPriya_ It depends on what makes you feel frightened. Audience, questions, forgetting content, etc.
E.g. if you fear questions no level of practicing will help you. Instead you'll need to overcome impostor syndrome.
This is so incredibly unethical behaviour on so many levels. I've seen the "let's keep them listed as sponsors"-practice before, but never came across fake speaker line ups. Or so I thought. Gross.
Imagine a tech conference having no CFP, as they reach out to speakers directly. They successfully attract some of the most heavy hitter men speakers in tech, and 3 women speakers.
Now imagine my surprise that 2 of those women are FAKE profiles.
They do not exist.
Nada.
There is NOTHING wrong with this. IMO this should be the default. This is how it should be for most people.
It takes you a good 5-7 years on the job to become a senior engineer -- or let's just call it what it really is, a professional software engineer.
@KassandraSanch It's how started home assistant. https://t.co/0xO4ucFsLs
I wouldn't install on anything less than a Pi4B today though. But for trying it out...
