@filpizlo@lonjil@fasterthanlime@adhsec That plainly isn't true. It is arguably less useful in GC'd languages. But it still helps prevent race conditions. GC doesn't solve those.
@fissie@ilblog@seznam_cz Seznam dela pravidelne (nekolikrat do mesice) odstavky jednoho z datacenter. Nejde o technologickou nutnost, ale pravidelne kontrolovane cviceni, ktere kontroluji pripravenost na skutecne vypadky. V naproste vetsine pripadu to uzivatele ani nepostrehnou.
@JamesSt94802316@fasterthanlime@anItalianFox Also cars are just optimized for going in straight line as that is what they do most of the time. It doesn't matter if you are quite a bit in efficient in turning when you can make up for it in going straight.
@JamesSt94802316@fasterthanlime@anItalianFox That is not the main reason at all l. There are actually shapes between cylinder and spheres that would be even easier to create and use. But cylinders have most surface in contact with road while still be able to rotate.
Buying new laptop in Czech Republic is kinda sad experience. I have a few strong preferences (13'', AMD, thin, light, durable) but most manufacturers don't sell configurations I would pick. They sell them in USA. Sometimes they sell them in Germany. But not in Czechia.
So I finally landed HP 835 G10. It has bit different look to what I would prefer but it is good fit in what matters. It has only 16G memory but hey it still is 2 times what Lenovo is selling. :D
Hi @Lenovo@LenovoSupport@lenovocz am looking to buy one of your new TP X13(AMD) with 16G or 32G memory. Can you point me to where I can get one? I am from Czech Republic. Thank you.
