Seminar titled "Naval Uprising to National Uprising" was organised by @MHSofIndia on 18 Feb to commemorate RIN Uprising of 1946. Cmde Srikant Kesnur(Retd) & Ms Janhavi Lokegaonkar provided deep insights into historical context & significance of Uprising for India’s independence.

Three frontline combatants joined the #IndianNavy on #15Jan 25. The grand Tri-commissioning Ceremony was presided over by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, at Naval dockyard, Mumbai.
#INSNilgiri, is the first ship of the P17A stealth frigate project and #INSSurat the fourth & final ship of P15B stealth destroyer project.
#lNSVaghsheer is the sixth & final submarine of the P75 submarine project.
All three Combat platforms boast of high indigenous content and are shining examples of India's
drive for indigenisation through the #AatmanirbharBharat initiative. Induction of these platforms will significantly boost the Navy's capability in consonance with its stated vision of a Combat Ready, Credible, Cohesive and Future Ready Force, safeguarding #India's maritime interests #AnytimeAnywhereAnyhow

On 09 Dec 1971, INS Khukri was torpedoed and lost in action during the India-Pakistan War of 1971. Capt Mahendra Nath Mulla displayed bravery in times of peril without caring much for his personal safety and made the supreme sacrifice by choosing to go down with his ship.

Today on 12 May 2024, Maritime History Society (MHS) celebrates its 46th Founder's Day.
It is an academic initiative of the Western Naval Command, Indian Navy.
#OTD in 1953, INS Godavari was commissioned. Three Hunt-class escort destroyers, HMS Bedale, HMS Lamerton & HMS Chiddingfold of the @RoyalNavy transferred to @indiannavy as INS Godavari, INS Gomati and INS Ganga respectively - and formed the 22nd destroyer squadron. A thread (1/19)
