@nicholasmuelle7 I'm here but I'm moving so slow producing comics that I'm part of the community in the same way that the woman who died in the past talking to the Defiant in the future on DS9 was a part of Starfleet.
Happy three year anniversary, Nick.

@HwsEleutheroi can you unblock my other account, @Frost_Comics? I'd like to follow you there as well and I have no idea why you blocked me. I don't think I ever tweeted at you from it.
What is this "turned on the president" shit? If you think a decision is stupid are you seriously expected to just stfu and go along with it now? For the sake of....what? Why?

@J0hnADouglas@Sonic9214825161 This is exactly why I not only got into indie comics but started writing my own. I want to be part of the positive change and support the others doing the same!
I hate @PBS and @NPR. They're closing but are so stuck on their virtue signaling they won't announce it on Twitter because Musk is a fascist.
I want to share my hatred of @sesamestreet and I hope you'll read because it's one of my biggest bottled rants. It's not for being woke.
Sesame Street is not a product of PBS or NPR, which may surprise you. Sesame Street is the product of a nonprofit specifically dedicated to producing it. The word nonprofit is used loosely because Sesame Street is a profit-making entity which makes half its income from royalties from the toys it sells. That's why Sesame Street is not shutting down right now.
Sesame Street is an American invention, but right now on YouTube, Sesame Street has only 124 full episodes available. There are over 4,700 episodes of Sesame Street spanning over decades and less than 3% of that is available to kids on the #1 video platform. On PBS Kids, there's about a dozen episodes.
This is because Sesame Street also profits by selling the rights to the Sesame Workshop to HBO. So if you want to see the crown jewel of American nonprofit entertainment, one of the most iconic television series ever produced specifically for the benefit of under-privileged inner city youth, you better get an HBO Max subscription.
Now try the localized versions. Latin America's Sésamo is available for free on YouTube, where they compile monster 5-hour-long full episode marathons. The Arabic version, Ahlan Simsim, has published its entire 6 year history on YouTube.
In Europe it's even better. The Netherlands and Germany? Completely free online. Every single episode of Sesamstrasse is available for viewers from Germany to watch in full on NDR.
The quality of the US show is also dog shit. This feels like a weird thing for an adult to complain about, but as someone who's been subjected international versions of Sesame Street while sitting in government waiting rooms abroad, the US version of Sesame Street is straight up garbage compared to international versions.
In general, it is now a very loud and stupid show, occasionally punctuated with celebrity cameos like it's the Simpsons. This contradicts the quiet, deliberate, educational vibe that I remember as a kid.
Episodes of Sesame Street in the US feature two recent characters that suck.
1. Abby is a fairy. She has literal magic and can conjure things out of nothingness. Her magic is limitless. She could theoretically cure world hunger but instead she spends it fucking around on Sesame Street. There's an episode where Cookie Monster tries to steal her wand and he is told off by everyone for being a thief despite the fact that creating infinite cookies is a much better use of that magic. Abby's existence also contradicts the entire purpose of the show: She is not equal to the other monsters, she is a god. She could enslave them if she wanted, like that episode of the Twilight Zone.
2. Smartie is a sentient cellphone. When they want to learn something, they conjure it with an incantation. "What do we do when we want to learn something? That's right: We look it up!". There's no mention of asking a parent, they just say "yeah grab mom's cellphone and smash that shit into google dw about it have fun."
In international versions, that garbage does not exist. It's quiet. The arab kids trying to get european visas sit quietly in the room listening to the quiet european Sesame Streets. Abby doesn't exist because she sucks and Smartie doesn't exist because the monsters will ask adults on set who actually demonstrate involved parenting instead.
American kids deserve better. FUCK Sesame Street.

One of the obstacles to creativity is finding out how the world works. No way back to 100 acre Wood, can't find the Wardrobe to Narnia, or Never Never Land?
