New name for the national team 🇳🇿

Following the All Whites’ historic first-ever victory over South American opposition at Eden Park on Monday, New Zealand Football is proud to unveil an exciting and original evolution of the team’s identity.

Effective immediately, the team will be known as ‘The All Black Team’.

This new name recognises the all-black strip worn during the landmark win on home soil earlier this week, a moment that signalled a bold new era for the team.

A natural progression from 'All Whites', the updated name reflects a modern, dynamic direction for New Zealand’s national men’s side.

New Zealand Football sees no conflict with the introduction of this name within the existing sporting landscape, and believes it creates a clear opportunity to establish a strong presence in a largely uncontested space.

The All Black Team will take the field at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and beyond.
