1/ We’re suing The Wall Street Journal for lying that Mindbloom killed Matthew Perry.
When fear mongering headlines scare people away from life-saving treatments like psychedelic medicine, the toll is measured in suicides, overdoses, and broken families like mine.
I lost both my mom and sister to mental illness. I refuse to let WSJ add to the mental health crisis death toll.
The harsh truth is that the mental health crisis is escalating:
+ 68M Americans face mental illness every year
+ Less than half receive help
+ Most who do... don’t get better
Treatments like SSRIs and psychotherapy barely outperform placebos, and 80% of patients relapse within 5 years.
Ketamine therapy is different:
+ 10× better outcomes
+ Hundreds of peer-reviewed studies
+ Countless stories of healing and transformation
But none of that made it into WSJ’s story.
Instead, their headline read: “Matthew Perry overdosed on anesthetic that Mindbloom is sending by mail.”
WSJ knew Matthew Perry was never a Mindbloom client.
The reporter admitted—in writing—that they wouldn’t link us to Matthew Perry.
They ran the headline anyway.
Two clients featured in the story also reached out, saying the article completely distorted their experiences and that Mindbloom transformed their lives.
Why did WSJ blatantly spread misinformation and exploit people who bravely shared their mental health journeys?
That answer is more twisted than you think 🧵👇
