Great breakdown of her work. The only issue I see with your thread is it starts from a false premise with, “If you think you can't understand a PhD thesis, it's because you are not its intended audience.”

It’s not that people don’t understand it or it’s too difficult to understand. They just don’t agree with its diagnosis and are skeptical due to the language used that’s often used in a lot of pseudo-social-science work.

@Cabal_Educator At the beginning of the year our PTA gives a questionnaire about things we like so that parents have gift ideas. I give them a list of charities I support and ask them to donate. I don’t need more Starbucks or chocolate, I need kids to have food and clean water.

@unprocast We have this every day in the middle school where I teach. The bell is 50 minutes long but lunch is only 30. The other twenty minutes is a time we call “Focus.” It’s perfect for catching up on work, making up small quizzes, or just a brain break.
