@VTGreenMtnGirl@badash_birdie@VTStatePolice just talked to someone on the street and they said people are walking around there not even knowing anything is happening, walking dogs and stuff
@AgainstSage@the_kochalka @boxbrown This guy was smart but also lucky, not married and no kids, and handy parents willing to help with renovations. His mom is a house painter and good with other trades too
@AgainstSage@the_kochalka @boxbrown I know him well, his mom is a house painter who I work with, the used a second mortgage on the family house for the flips until they did a couple. Then used proceeds to buy a fixer upper they remodeled where he lives but rents the other bedrooms
@AgainstSage@the_kochalka @boxbrown Turn a small 3% down payment Into several rentals and flips along the way. If mortgages were a new idea people might think they were an awesome way to buy first home. But chicken and egg again
@capeandcowell Will the second amendment cover my right to own a few of these? Imagine a school shooting when all you have to do is get pissed and tell this thing an address
@AgainstSage@the_kochalka @boxbrown So I'm thinking the mortgage is like economic rocket fuel. very powerful, but dangerous. If used wisely can be a huge help, but all to easy to abuse or misuse
@AgainstSage@the_kochalka @boxbrown But now I'm thinking it's a chicken and egg thing. Mortgages and low interest rates drive up prices, but they also make buying a house possible in the first place. So yes your tied to the commitment, but you do get access to a huge amount of Capitol
@the_kochalka@AgainstSage @boxbrown Same thing in healthcare, insurance covers allot of it, do people stop paying attention to costs, and the price sky rockets
