Note that Giliomee is under contract at the Sharks and despite the fact that heβll be joining the Bulls, theyβre insisting that he see out his contract in full - including the start of the URC season.
A completely fair and normal position for a team to take.
As much as I enjoy Paul's writing and work in general, I just can't agree with the Josh Canham take.
Simply can't be the best lock in the world if you not great in contact in defence. Was a penalty machine in July too.
- The All Blacks are still beautiful to watch.
- Australia may soon have the best lock in the world
- Boks have the best scrum in the history of the game
- Lloyd's sponsorship is great for English rugby

Ugh thereβs no point of even discussing about the world player of the year award after it lost itβs credibility last year when Malcom Marx won over Louis Bielle-Biarrey and his country man who actually deserved it in Ox Nche. What a joke. Haha

Out of the blue and here until 2027 π

the Springbok line-out

Marx was 33/34
Ruan Nortje the unsung hero.
Springbok attack, playing on top of the gainline, that vacuum just behind the line-out, with Jasper, The Giant, DdA or as we've seen a fleet footed KLA attacking that space.
The line-out is absolute critical for the Springbok attack.
The scrum is the diversion.
Jake always handed debuts to some of the youngest Boks who weren't -in his words - 'stalwarts'.
JP Pietersen, Frans Steyn, Hilton Lobberts and so on.
Did that cheapen the blazer?

The scrum battle in Perth is going to be very intriguing. Wallabies could eat the Boks at the scrum in this Test. Theyβre fresh, the Brumbies scrum has always been top notch, South Africa will rotate players. Wallabies pack get the fifth bite!
While we are on it, what other local bangers should we embrace at rugby stadiums? Masambe Nono is a great addition. But there must be others. @GwijoSquad have done some great work, but we need to get more. Can you imagine a full FNB Stadium with 80k fans singing their team to victory?
