Vanity Fair pulled a reporter’s press credentials this week after she was filmed smiling and winking at courtroom cameras covering the Lindsay Clancy trial, days before jury deliberations are set to begin. The outlet said reporter Brittany Romano’s conduct raised “clear conflicts” with its editorial standards. Romano, who grew up with Clancy, later posted on social media that “a smile is not a crime.”
