1/n There’s an interesting story from the 14th century about Madhurai Meenakshi Temple - it was closed for 60 years due to the onslaught of the Madhurai Sultanate.

Kumara Kampana, Son of Bukka I from the Vijayanagar Empire put an end to it and re-opened the temple !
