people who think life ends at 30 seem to lack a complex or nuanced understanding of their parents i think. they’re stuck in a sort of teenage mindset towards them. one of the main tasks of your twenties is learning to see them as people (& by extension, life as more than youth)
This take is so wrong but I’m not seeing enough replies/quotes explaining why it’s so wrong. News flash, Americans do not read and I’ll bet many well intentioned under informed leftists around here share the same opinion as this girl.
Being anti-surrogacy is usually a good indicator to me that a leftist is a Mystical, Spiritual kind of leftist and not a materialist.
The arguments against it inevitably apply to all wage labor, or dangerous wage labor, but surrogacy is Different because it’s Mystical
@calicea5411@kenklippenstein@jarsofclay lol I am rethinking my stance after seeing your page but it’s weird how you’re so touched by his wife wanting to forgive to the point of self labeling yourself as cynical. You might not be an evangelical but the way you’re talking about all this certainly benefits them!
@calicea5411@kenklippenstein lol this account is pretending to be a “leftist atheist” and doing a bad job at that. Easy to see that it is actually some kind of evangelical Christian behind that keyboard.
@justksthings3 What if we all agreed to take 3 months off in summer so no firm would get ahead of the others and we’d all have some fun then come back refreshed!
Zohran Mamdani, first potential South Asian Mayor of New York, called India PM Modi as "Butcher of Gujarat".
- When asked if he would meet Modi if Modi is in New York, Zohran said that he would never meet Modi.
The moral depravity and bankruptcy of (all) Western corporate journalism exposed for the world to see by Iranian Professor Marandi who exists on a completely different moral plane. Brilliant exposure, more Marandi please.
The look on this woman's face at the end of the interview is priceless. She knows that he's destroyed her. Not just as a journalist, but as a respectable human being.
@luceafarulmeu@nicole85ks@ojuelegba9@gaygoddess_a By 1860, enslaved Black people were worth more than all U.S. factories, railroads, and banks combined. Cotton—picked by slaves—was 60% of U.S. exports. So no, ‘Africans sold slaves too’ doesn’t cancel out the trillions America owes in stolen labor.
@luceafarulmeu@nicole85ks@ojuelegba9@gaygoddess_a Yes, Africans sold captives—but it was Europeans who industrialized slavery, shipped 12M+ people across oceans, built massive U.S. wealth on forced Black labor, then followed it up with Jim Crow, redlining, and mass incarceration.
