Never ceases to amaze me that you would rarely find the police preventing citizens from being harmed or find them at locations where properties are being destroyed or looted. But you will find them in their battalion; arresting, beating and throwing tear gas at those walking peacefully on the streets, singing and carrying placards.
So what ever happened to the primary responsibility of protecting lives and properties?

El rufai accused Southern Kaduna leaders of seeking bribes on Channels TV

None of those useless reporters interviewing him asked him to substantiate those claims

In the past, he has used similar tactics when he didn’t get his way in government. It is his usual go to weapon

I expect a similar scenario in this case too since he wasn’t confirmed

In 2003, when he had issues being confirmed, he accused Ibrahim Mantu of Plateau of seeking bribes from him in order to confirm him as Minister

When the late Senator Mantu who felt insulted, insisted that he provide evidence of this, El rufai suddenly went AWOL

The day this house that El-Rufai built on quick sand is properly scrutinized

It will all come down crashing

If Nigerians are scared to be blunt, I will not be regarding this issue of Nasir El-Rufai

El rufai in a video bragged publicly about bringing into perpetuity Moslem Fulani rulership in Kaduna State and how he has relegated the Southern Kaduna people to the background

El rufai also took these threats a step further
He imposed Fulani district heads in various areas in Southern Kaduna, an area that has 65 ethnic nationalities that are neither Hausa nor Fulani

It didn’t end there, El rufai changed names of the Southern Kaduna traditional stools so that Fulani migrants could lay claim to ethnic Southern Kaduna Stools and rule those ethnic groups in the future

He did it to the Gbagyi ethnic group, Fansuam and many others in the area

El rufai did not stop there, he Balkanized the chiefdoms of the Adara king whom he felt was getting too powerful and who refused to bow down to El rufais whims and Caprices

Not to mention the suspicious circumstances of the Agwom Adaras death and all other rulers who disagreed with El rufai

Even the reforms that he allegedly performed in the state were restricted to certain areas and did not extend to the Southern Kaduna people

We saw the college of education in the area as well as so many dilapidated structures that remained untouched by the so called “Competent one”

Even when scores were killed in Southern Kaduna, he refused to go there.
He has not hidden his hatred for the people in Southern Kaduna of which he governs

On Channels TV, He called for the execution of Zamani Lekwot from Southern Kaduna.
He wondered by the recommendation of Babangidas military council calling for Zamanis execution was not carried out

El rufai continued to beat the drums of war in the state when he came out to claim that Fulani were killed in the state without any visible evidence and was cautioned by the Commissioner of Police in the State who was later transferred

He was overheating the polity during the electioneering process because he knew it would spark reparisal attacks by Fulani militia and disrupt the process (which it did largely in the Southern Kaduna areas where he knew he would not get sufficient votes)

Least we forget, El rufai admitted to paying killers in foreign countries to stop killing (with Tax payers monies).

The question is, if he can locate the killers, why not hand them over to law enforcement.

Why take out monies from the purse of the state government to give people responsible for the deaths of thousands in the state if you are the State security officer

Additionally, El rufai went of TV to claim that Southern Kaduna peoples was 20% of the population without any verifiable population statistics to back up his claims

The crazy reporters interviewing him did not ask him where he got those numbers from

The last census count said the people of Southern Kaduna were 51% in 2006,
and as such, to hear that they were now 20%, even a below average journalist would question those figures but not our genius journalists

But that isn’t even the biggest concern.
The biggest concern is when you combine El rufai paying killers and then deminishing the population of an area

El rufai was also accused of giving N3 billion worth of contracts to families, friends, aids etc

When El-Rufai was accused by a Senate committee of awarding choice FCT plots of land to his wives and children?
He didn’t deny it. His response was that of arrogance.

He arrogantly told the committee that his wives, children, and friends were Nigerians and were thus entitled to said plots of FCT choice lands! 

El-Rufai didn't see anything wrong with this corrupt conduct as FCT minister.

So he certainly will not see anything wrong with distributing contracts to his family, friends, and aides as governor.

This is the so called competent one of some people😆

El-Rufais cult of competence worshippers do not even know who the man really is.

They are just naive people who have been bamboozled with language of good governance and transparency and few projects that have been used to launder his image

Let us discuss El rufais human rights records.

You could not say something against El rufai and live to tell the tale

He is famous for going after journalists who have published materials that he did not like

The NUJ, Nigerian Union of Journalists listed Kaduna State in the Year 2020 as the worst place to practice Journalism in Nigeria

It was a dictatorship with El rufai where freedom of speech and press were forbidden

Journalists like Steven Kefas, and Luka Biniyat (the first an investigative journalist and the second, who worked for the Vanguard Newspaper) were arrested while critics like Daddiyata went missing

While all this playing out, the children of El rufai on twitter kept issuing cryptic tweets which many linked as relating to the missing Dadiyata

On more issues on the evil of El rufai, he threatened to demolish an entire community in Southern Kaduna - Gonin Gora, in the middle of an ethno-religious crisis. (He actually demolished parts of it to just put this into perspective and those who protested, many were killed)

Now, it is a terrible idea to threaten or to actually demolish an entire community, whatever crimes some members of that community may have committed.
It’s outrageous to even suggest it

It is a lazy method of conflict resolution

Even I, who isn’t in public office, knows that the logical thing to do is to - use intelligence networks to identify and arrest the suspects and deploy adequate security to the area as a short-term measure and to establish institutions of peace-building and community vigilantism in the long term.

Not El rufai, he wants to demolish the homes of the innocent, the guilty, many children, the old and young, because of claims that some individuals in that community were breaking the law and attacking travelers.

He however did not proffer this same solution to the Hausa and Fulani communities accused of doing the same thing in Kawo, Nasarawa, Unguwan Mu’azu, Tudun Wada, Badiko, and Panteka

What is puzzling is that he does all of this in the open with no repercussions

If all governors were using demolishing as a means of conflict resolution, we won’t have even one standing structure in this nation but apparently, he is their competent one, and so, he can weaponize demolishing on communities he does not like

Days before El rufai left, there were protests because he demolished a Gbagyi settlement due to a state permit he insisted the locals did not get

When the locals were interviewed, they stated that the office for the permit was always locked 🔒

But the bigger question is, is demolishing the consequence of not getting permits now?

We will not even go into the Churches El rufai demolished

Let’s look at his hate speech law

El rufai caused a law to be passed against hate speech at state level, but it will shock u to know that only people from Southern Kaduna were arrested and prosecuted.

Audu Maikori, Luka Biniyat, and John Danfulani, were arrested and arraigned under the said law.

In 2012, a group of Fulani had seen a parcel of land in Plateau and had just cleared it and started living on it

The Plateau State government in collaboration with the Federal Government and Nigerian Army at the time understood that due to the sensitive nature of land and indigene/settler conflicts in the area, they would have to relocate the settlers

As such, they started making arrangements to move the settler Fulani group to another location

It was then that Nasir El rufai made a tweet which stated that:

“Anyone, soldier or not, that kills the Fulani, takes a loan repayable one day no matter how long it takes.”

This individual who wants to be Minister of Power was committing acts of treason by threatening Soldiers of the Nigerian army who were tasked with relocation efforts

It is little surprise that the SSS are concerned and raise issue of the dangers of the candidature of Nasir El rufai

And this is without me going into detail about the corrupt acts that were leveled against him during his time as FCT Minister

The moral in all of this is that we really need to scrutinize who we put in positions of power

The difference may be as drastic as development or genocide

As such,we must write petitions and cause storms so that creatures similar to El rufai come no where close to the corridors of power ever again

This is why there are coups in Africa. The politicians have turned democracy into private business. Imagine amidst the widespread hunger, people who are given N27m monthly are still announcing to the public the disbursement of an allowance to “enjoy” their holiday!

And if there is a coup tomorrow the “international community” and their surrogate organizations will demand a return to the looting, sanction the country and even bombard it. But while it is on, World Bank and IMF have never questioned this recklessness nor made it a condition for any loan. No country applies any restraining order to tame the practice. No leader, at home or abroad, speaks against the practice.

They have the right to “enjoy”, we have the right to “suffer”. I wish this President’s agenda of reducing the cost of governance will include this kind of waste.
