CENDAÑA CALLS OUT ESCUDERO OVER IMPEACHMENT TRIAL DELAY

AKBAYAN Rep. Perci Cendaña did not mince his words on Tuesday, June 3, as he criticized Senate President Chiz Escudero, whose wife Heart Evangelista is a regular at fashion weeks, over the reported delay in starting the Senate impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

Cendaña said the impeachment process should not be treated like Paris Fashion Week. He stressed that convening the Senate as an impeachment court is a serious duty under the Constitution, not something that can be worn or set aside based on political timing or personal plans.

He added that this duty is like a uniform that must be worn whenever the Constitution requires it.
