My uncle sent me $40 from London, and it took me three days to spend it. It is not because anything went wrong, but because that's just how spending crypto in Nigeria works. Until I found @JustXpend_ai. Let me tell you what happened 🧵 He sent $40.07 to my wallet, then I tried using it, but the gas fee to move it was $6.40, so I had to wait for a day for the fees to drop, but they went up instead. I moved it anyway, and again, the exchange wanted fresh KYC. After converting, the spread quietly ate into the margins, and the withdrawal got flagged for manual review. It wasn't until after three days that ₦38,000 was able to enter my account with one specific kind of exhaustion.
